"The Most Dangerous Game" Game
The 8 th Grade Literature students read, Richard Connell's "The Most Dangerous Game." Then in collaborative groups, they developed board games reflecting the plot of the short story. Each group designed their own boards, including the traps found in the story, and wrote their own playing instructions. Mrs. Jansen, Mr. Drake and Mrs. Reynolds were guest players and had a blast playing the games with the students. The students were extremely happy and proud to have such distinguished guests playing their games. Parking Spot Winners Congratulations to the following families. Winners may park in the designated parking spots in the front of the school office for the assigned months. Watch for your name to be posted each month. Fairmont Edgewood Alumni Spotlight
On Tuesday, September 10th, Amanda Tjan, Class of 2003 visited her old campus for old time sake. Amanda attended Fairmont Edgewood starting in 3rd grade and graduated in 2003. She went on to Sage High School, graduated in 2007 and pursued her studies at Boston College. She studied abroad in Madrid, Spain in 2009 and has been there ever since. Amanda is teaching English to business companies, 5th & 6th graders, vocational classes and private lessons to young children. On the side, she is pursuing her jewelry line and is working on a television show on Art & Culture. Amanda says she has a greater appreciation for teachers now that she has taught English overseas. A influence in her decision to teach were her teachers here at Fairmont Edgewood: Mrs. Devane, Miss Harper, Mrs. Letson-Drake, Mrs. Baran, and many more.

Feature Article
Teacher Feature
My full name is Shannon Cheuvront-Torres, but I go by Mrs. Torres. I have lived in Orange County my whole life and have loved every moment of it. I graduated from Cal State Fullerton with my degree in Child and Adolescent Development and received my multiple subject teaching credential from CSUF as well. I spent the last five years working as an elementary educator in Orange and Tustin Unified. I spent this past summer working for the summer program at the Historic Anaheim Campus, which lead me to the amazing opportunity to teach at this beautiful North Tustin campus.
On a personal note, I have been married for the last 3 years, and we have a pug named Niko. I love to read, travel, and do crafts in my free time. On weekends, I enjoy going on hikes in our local terrain and going out to dinner.
I am very excited to be a part of the Fairmont Family for this year and for years to come.
