Feature Article Junior High Boys Football Undefeated 7-0
After 7 games, the Eagles are undefeated and off to their best start ever in the Tri-Way League. They were victorious Wednesday over a solid, and also undefeated school, Mission Hills 34-20. The Fairmont North Tustin campus, formerly known as Edgewood, had never beaten Mission Hills in Jr. High football before Wednesday so it was an important milestone.
Averaging over 40 points a game, North Tustin football started the season off with a bang by pounding teams with scores like 42-12 over the Historic Anaheim campus (formerly known as Mable), and 27-0 over the other Fairmont sister school Anaheim Hills. They then went on to destroy TVT by a score of 52-12, 43-6 over Carden Academy, 37-8 over Oakridge, and 44-28 over Heritage Christian.
Led by 3rd year starting quarterback Caden S., and 2nd year wide receiver Zayn B., the Eagles of North Tustin have a potent offense that has yet to be stopped. With only ten players on the team, everyone is getting plenty of playing time, both on offense, defense, and special teams. Everyone on the team is making a tremendous impact towards winning these games. From new tight end Nathan L., who has great speed, good hands, and great blocking ability, to Vincent Z., who plays center and hasn't made a bad snap since the first couple of practices, this team is solid in all positions. Jack M., backup quarterback and starting wide receiver is not only an important part of the offensive equation, but he plays linebacker on defense and is a key component in keeping the opposing teams in check. The other five players on the team, Cameron H., Sean H., Adham G., Rayan H., and Eric F. are also critical to the team's success so far.
With four games remaining before the playoffs begin, the Eagles are trying to finish in first place and finish with the #1 seed going into the 1st round. Their next two games are at Carden Hall on Monday, October 15th at 3:15 pm, and a home game against Heritage Oak, two days later, Wednesday, October 17th at 3:00 pm. Come on out and cheer on our Eagles! |
