Basic questions and application reviews are offered for FREE through the Texas Charter School Technical Assistance Network (the Network). The deadline for submission of your documents to TCSA for review is 5pm on Friday, March 29, 2013.
The charter renewal application development service is offered by TCSA for $6,000 - this comprehensive service would involve our team processing the development of your application response upon delivery of all needed data/documents from your school and removing the angst of that from your hands. The deadline for submission of your documents to TCSA for development is 5pm on Friday, March 22, 2013.
The application contains ten sections and several forms that are to be completed, printed and returned by mail to the Charter School Administration Unit at TEA by
April 5, 2013.
The charter renewal process consists of reviews of the following general areas: student performance, business operations and fiscal management, program performance and effectiveness, and compliance with certain legal requirements. Before a renewal decision is authorized by the commissioner, the applicant must receive clearance from the following areas: Performance Reporting, Charter School Administration, Child Nutrition, Financial Accountability and Reporting, Grants Administration, Legal Services, PEIMS Data Reporting, Program Monitoring and Interventions, NCLB and IDEA Programs, Student Assessment, Enforcement Coordination and Governance, General Inquiries, Complaints, and Educator Standards and Certification. The charter must also have a status of Accredited as defined in 19 Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §97.1055.
