Children's Healthy Weight Collaborative Improvement and Innovation Network (CoIIN)

This announcement solicits applications for a Children's Healthy Weight Collaborative Improvement and Innovation Network (CoIIN). The purpose of this cooperative agreement is to develop and implement a Children's Healthy Weight CoIIN, with the goal of increasing the proportion of children and young adults ages birth to 21 years who fall within a healthy weight range by supporting states to adopt evidence-based or evidence-informed policies and practices related to nutrition, physical activity, and breastfeeding. The Application of Big Data Analytics to Drug Abuse Research (NIH)

The purpose of this FOA is to encourage the application of Big Data analytics to reveal deeper or novel insights into the biological and behavioral processes associated with substance abuse and addiction. Special Issue of Clinical Social Work Journal - Clinical Social Work with Veterans Throughout the Lifespan
This special issue will explore current social work practice with veteran populations. This issue will focus on serving veterans throughout the lifespan in a variety of settings. Articles will include discussion of veteran populations with special emphasis on those who face unique challenges due to intersecting identities (e.g., women and LGBT populations), case examples that illustrate application of clinical practice theories in real world settings (e.g., palliative care and oncology, treatment of posttraumatic stress), and exploration of topics crucial to a comprehensive understanding of veterans' needs (e.g., veteran identity and culture, reintegration to civilian life). ICPSR Training - Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID) Data User Workshop

The Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID), begun in 1968, is the world's longest-running multigenerational household panel study. This workshop will orient participants to the content and structure of the core PSID interview, special topics modules, and supplemental studies. Click here for more information.

Michigan State University Dyadic Data Analysis Workshop
July 25-29, 2016 - East Lansing, MI
The workshop will focus on analyses for data in which both members of a dyad are measured on the same set of variables. Topics to be addressed include the measurement of nonindependence, the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model, the analysis of distinguishable and indistinguishable dyads, and the analysis of over-time dyadic data (e.g., dyadic growth curve models). The software package used in the workshop will be SPSS. Although the workshop does not require any prior knowledge or experience with multilevel modeling, participants are expected to have a working knowledge of multiple regression and analysis of variance, as well as SPSS. Just over 50 years ago, President Lyndon B. Johnson declared an "unconditional war on poverty." Today, the Department of Health and Human Services is releasing a report demonstrating the increasing impact of safety net programs in lifting families and children out of poverty, while also documenting the need for more progress.
