The Russell Sage Foundation's program on the Future of Work supports research on the causes and consequences of changes in the quality of jobs for less- and moderately-skilled workers in the United States. We seek research proposals that will broaden our understanding of the role of changes in employer practices, the nature of the labor market and public policies on the employment, earnings, and the quality of jobs of American workers. We are especially interested in funding analyses of original qualitative and quantitative data sources, and novel uses of existing sources of data to address important questions about the interplay of market and non-market forces in shaping the wellbeing of workers, today and in the future. The Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR) is turning 20 this year! To help us celebrate, we are asking you to submit a video that showcases your research work. The best videos will be featured at the OBSSR 20th Anniversary Research Symposium on June 25th and on our website throughout 2015. Videos should be 60-90 seconds long, in QuickTime/MOV, WMV, MPEG or AVI format and YouTube compatible, no larger than 50 MB, 508 compliant, captioned with an available transcription file, and free of content that may violate any copyright laws. Send your intent to submit a video to Tara Turner at tara.turner@nih.gov by April 15, upload video to YouTube, and send a link to the video to obssrnews@mail.nih.gov by May 15, 2015.

Prior research highlights the complex intersections between post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance use disorders (SUD), and involvement with the criminal justice system. Despite growing attention to intersections among these experiences, many issues remain unresolved. We invite investigators and practitioners to contribute original research articles as well as review article that will enrich our understanding of PTSD, problematic substance use, lawbreaking activity, and criminal justice involvement.
