Maternal and Child Health Research Program Secondary Data Analysis Studies (HRSA)
Deadline: December 5, 2014
The R40 MCH SDAS program supports applied research relating to maternal and child health services that utilizes exclusively the secondary analysis of existing national databases and/or administrative records. These projects should have the potential to improve health services and delivery of care for maternal and child health populations. Findings from the research supported by the MCH Research Program are expected to strengthen and expand Affordable Care Act (ACA) implementation. Click here for more information.
Pediatric HIV/AIDS Cohort Study (PHACS) Coordinating Center (CC) (NIH)
Deadline: January 2, 2015
The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to continue addressing two critical scientific questions on the clinical course of perinatally acquired HIV infection in adolescents and the oral and systemic health consequences of in utero and infant exposure to antiretroviral chemotherapy in representative cohorts of children in the United States. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Interprofessional Advanced Fellowship in Addiction Treatment
The Office of Academic Affiliations, Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking applicants for two year post-doctoral addiction treatment fellowships. The fellowship is open to physicians and PhD-prepared nurses, social workers, psychologists, and associated health professionals. Fellows spend approximately 75 percent of their time in research and education and 25 percent in clinical care at selected VA sites. Mentors of national stature provide guidance to fellows in rich learning environments. Graduates are expected to be role models in leading, developing, conducting, and evaluating innovative research, education, and clinical care in health issues pertaining to Addiction Treatment. 29th Annual Conference on Treatment Foster Care

Successful treatment foster care programs encompass a vast array of service supports and there are many topics of interest to our conference attendees. Many participants work across the child welfare service continuum and are interested in applying what they learn throughout agency programs that engage family- and community-based treatment strategies. The FFTA Conference Committee is interested in receiving proposals for advanced-level workshops on topics geared toward clinicians; agency CEOs and other senior-level staff; program managers and directors; supervisors; administrative staff; foster parent trainers, researchers and evaluators; and foster parents. Special Issue of Public Health Reports - Health Status and the Military Experience: After the War

The Guest Editors seek manuscripts that advance scientific knowledge of potential health consequences associated with military service. Information included in this Supplement is expected to assist public health professionals, clinical care providers, and policy makers in their efforts to identify and address risks to health associated with military experience. The Commonwealth Fund Blog - Keeping Covered: The Affordable Care Act's First Reenrollment Period for Marketplace Plans
On November 15, the health insurance marketplaces will open for the 2015 enrollment period. As many as 13 million people may have a plan through the marketplaces by the end of the three-month period. Among those will be people who are continuing their coverage and tax credits from last year. This "reenrollment" will be a first-time experience for the marketplaces and consumers, and it will be administratively complex for everyone. Click here for more information.
Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Blog - New Research Projects to Understand and Improve Responses to Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)
Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a widespread problem in the United States. In response, ACF's Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation (OPRE) has recently initiated a project in collaboration with the Office of Family Assistance to strengthen appropriate approaches to addressing IPV in the context of healthy relationship programs, and another project in collaboration with the Family and Youth Services Bureau's Division of Family Violence Prevention and Services to document how IPV hotlines funded by ACF are linking the public with needed resources.
