Funding Opportunities
Partnership for State Title V Maternal and Child Health Leadership Community Cooperative Agreement (HRSA)
Deadline: November 3, 2014
This announcement solicits applications for the fiscal year (FY) 2015 Partnership for State Title V Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Leadership Community Cooperative Agreement. The purpose of this cooperative agreement is to support an organization focusing on MCH to improve public health programs and the delivery of MCH services and assure optimal alignment with the transformed Title V MCH Services Block Grant program. The awardee will support efforts of State Title V MCH programs, led by State MCH and Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Directors, to improve the health of all mothers and children by assisting States in developing, implementing, and sustaining public health programs and a comprehensive system of care for the delivery of MCH services that are well aligned with the transformed Title V MCH Services Block Grant. In addition, the awardee will support efforts of State Title V MCH Services Block Grant programs related to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), including outreach and enrollment, tracking improvements from coverage to care to systems, and developing an early warning system for ACA-related issues in MCH. FY 15 NIJ Graduate Research Fellowship Program in the Social and Behavioral Sciences (DOJ) Deadline: December 25, 2014
NIJ is seeking proposals for funding under the Graduate Research Fellowship (GRF) program in social and behavioral sciences. This program provides awards for research on crime, violence, and other criminal justice-related topics to accredited universities that offer research-based doctoral degrees. NIJ invests in doctoral education by supporting universities that sponsor students who demonstrate the potential to successfully complete doctoral degree programs in disciplines relevant to the mission of NIJ, and who are in the final stages of graduate study. Applicants sponsoring doctoral students are eligible to apply only if the doctoral research dissertation has direct implications for criminal justice policy and practice in the United States. Biomedical/Biobehavioral Research Administration Development (BRAD) Award (NIH)

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to invite applications that propose to establish Offices of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSPs) or enhance the services of existing ORSPs or similar entities at domestic and international institutions of higher learning. Domestic program priorities include emerging research institutions and primarily undergraduate institutions, including women's colleges, that have a racial and ethnically diverse student enrollment and that meet the eligibility requirement of the NIH Academic Research Enhancement Award (AREA) program. International program priorities include institutions of higher education in sub-Saharan Africa, India, and low and middle income countries in the Caribbean and South America that meet the eligibility requirements. Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Grant - Large Pragmatic Studies to Evaluate Patient-Centered Outcomes

PCORI seeks to fund pragmatic clinical trials (PCTs), large simple trials (LSTs), or large-scale observational studies that compare two or more alternatives for addressing prevention, diagnosis, treatment, or management of a disease or symptom; improving health care system-level approaches to managing care; or eliminating health or healthcare disparities. The goal of this Track is to promote interaction and sharing of knowledge between researchers and practitioners whose work and interests relate to health in urban environments. The 2015 theme will examine ways how we as social workers can remain relevant in AIDS care. In this past year, Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Treatment (PrEP) has been widely discussed in this country. Further, the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS), and Ryan White Program (RWP) funding issues present new challenges and opportunities. Special Issue of Social Work Education: The International Journal- Environmental Justice, Green Social Work or Eco Justice: Preparing for Social Work's Growing Involvement
Deadline: January 15, 2015
This special issue seeks to capture the efforts of social workers who are embedded in the realities of environmental degradation and its impact on the well-being of individuals, families, and communities across the globe. Manuscripts that provide documentation of the issue, evidence of an attempted intervention at any system level and the outcome (if it worked or not) are welcomed. Conceptual manuscripts of how to integrate and frame environmental concerns and consequences for vulnerable populations, particularly to students in educational settings, are also invited. Finally, manuscripts with evidence of successful curriculum adaptations to include environmental concerns are welcomed. All manuscripts must provide implications to the education of social workers and the profession, as well aid the international readership of this journal and their understanding of this common problem. Call for Papers Health Affairs Deadline: Ongoing Health Affairs encourages submissions from authors on topics surrounding the care of older adults, including new models of care and the management of multiple chronic conditions among this population. We are interested in work that spans the full range of care settings, including primary care and specialty practices, hospitals, nursing homes and other long-term care settings. Likewise, in addition to exploring topics that are directly related to the provision of care, we also welcome papers on a broad array of related dimensions that affect care, access, and affordability, such as financing models, coverage, and size and composition of the workforce. Call for Reviewers Research on Social Work Practice (RSWP) Editorial Board Invitations are extended to members of the social work community to apply for a three-year appointment to the journal's Editorial Board, for the period 2015-2017. Editorial Board members should be professional social workers with a background commensurate with the journal's purposes. This would normally include receipt of a research-based doctoral degree, post-MSW practice experience, and having authored a number of empirically-based research publications related to social work practice, including intervention studies, psychometric reports and/or systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
