Public Health Actions to Prevent and Control Diabetes, Tobacco Use, Heart Disease, and Associated Chronic Disease Risk Factors and Improve Maternal and Child Health Support Reproductive Health in the US Affiliated Pacific Islands, Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico (CDC) Deadline: February 10, 2014
The primary purpose of this funding is to support the implementation of cross-cutting, unified approaches to promote health, prevent and control tobacco use, diabetes, heart disease, promotion of health pregnancy and infancy through primary and secondary prevention of NCDs in the US Affiliated Pacific Islands, Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. This FOA attempts to coordinate activities that address common risk factors, as well as cross-cutting epidemiology and surveillance, environmental approaches, health systems changes and clinical-community linkages (e.g. surveillance, screening, evaluation, data systems) and reduces the administrative and reporting requirements. Mechanisms of Behavior Change in the Treatment of Alcohol Use Disorders (NIH)
Deadline: March 17, 2016
This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) encourages grant applications from institutions or organizations that propose to investigate the underlying mechanisms that facilitate behavior change within our current empirically-supported behavioral treatments for alcohol use disorders. A further goal of this FOA is to enhance translational research efforts by identifying potential neurobiological or cognitive processes that may act as potential mechanisms of therapeutic change or mediate the direct link between specific active ingredients and alcohol use treatment outcomes. National Science Foundation Methodology, Measurement, and Statistics (MMS) Program

The Methodology, Measurement, and Statistics (MMS) Program is an interdisciplinary program in the Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences that supports the development of innovative analytical and statistical methods and models for those sciences. MMS seeks proposals that are methodologically innovative, grounded in theory, and have potential utility for multiple fields within the social and behavioral sciences. As part of its larger portfolio, the MMS Program partners with a consortium of federal statistical agencies to support research proposals that further the development of new and innovative approaches to surveys and to the analysis of survey data. Coalition for Evidence-Based Policy Low Cost RCT Competition - Demonstrating How Low-Cost Randomized Controlled Trials Can Drive Effective Social Spending
Deadline: February 14, 2014
In response to the White House and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) call to action for evidence-based reforms across the federal government, the Coalition for Evidence-Based Policy is launching a competition for low-cost randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that seek to build valid, actionable evidence about "what works" in U.S. social spending. This is designed as a high-visibility, three-year initiative, whose purpose is to demonstrate the feasibility and value of low-cost RCTs to a wide policy and philanthropic audience. Campbell Collaboration 2014 Colloquium
Deadline: January 24, 2014
The Campbell Collaboration (C2) is an international network that produces systematic reviews of evidence of the effects of social interventions. C2 helps people and policymakers make well-informed decisions by preparing, maintaining and disseminating systematic reviews of research on interventions in education, crime and justice, international development, and social welfare. C2 welcomes proposals for oral paper presentations on any topic relevant to the development and application of systematic review methods, as well as topics related to the iterative cycle of evidence gathering and decision-making about social interventions. We are also seeking poster and oral presentations on research related to interventions for improving the well-being of society or individuals in any of the key Campbell areas: Crime and Justice, Education, International Development, Social Welfare, Research Synthesis Methods (or with implications for synthesis), and Knowledge Translation and Implementation.
