Andrew Rally seems to have it all: celebrity and acclaim from his starring role in a hit television series; a rich beautiful girlfriend; a glamorous, devoted agent; the perfect New York apartment; and the chance to play Hamlet in Central Park. There are, however, a couple of glitches in paradise. Andrew's series has been canceled; his girlfriend is clinging to her virginity with unyielding conviction; and he has no desire to play Hamlet. When Andrew's agent visits him, she reminices about her brief romance with John Barrymore many years ago, in Andrew's apartment. This prompts a seance to summon his ghost. From the moment Barrymore returns, dressed in high Shakespearan garb, Andrew's life is no longer his own. Barrymore, fortified by champagne and ego, presses Andrew to accept the part and fulfill his actor's destiny. The action becomes more hilarious with the entrance of Andrew's deal-making friend from LA, spouting the laid-back hype of the Coast and offering Andrew a fabulous new TV deal worth millions of dollars. The laughs are nonstop as Andrew wrestles with his conscience, Barrymore, his sword, and the fact that he fails as Hamlet in Central Park.

Starring Katy Benko and Ivy Elizabeth

"Always...Patsy Cline" is more than a tribute to the legendary country singer who died tragically at age 30 in a plane crash in 1963. The show is based on a true story about Cline's friendship with a fan from Houston named Louise Seger, who befriended the star in a Texas honky-tonk in l961, and continued a correspondence with Cline until her death.
The musical play, complete with down home country humor, true emotion and even some audience participation, includes many of Patsy' unforgettable hits such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, Sweet Dreams and Walking After Midnight...27 songs in all. The show's title was inspired by Cline's letters to Seger, which were consistently signed "Love ALWAYS... Patsy Cline."

Legally Blonde: The Musical

Produced by Ricardo Padilla

Music Directed by Alanna Mensing and Evelyn Rice

Choreography by Alanna Mensing

Synopsis:
Legally Blonde The Musical, follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery, and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. This action-packed musical explodes on the stage with memorable songs and dynamic dances. Equal parts hilarious and heart-warming warming, this musical is so much fun it should be illegal!

Legally Blonde The Musical will take you from the sorority house to the halls of justice with Broadway's brightest new heroine (and of course, her chihuahua, Bruiser).

Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside-down, however, when her boyfriend dumps her so he can start getting serious about his life and attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle uses her charm to get into Harvard Law. At school, she struggles with peers, professors, and Warner Huntington. With the help of Paulette and Emmett, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.

ARTISTIC COMMITTEE TO MEET IN AUGUST - DIRECTOR PROPOSALS SOUGHT

If you are interested in being part of the process that plans FCT's activities, you are invited to join us at the next Artistic Committee meeting, which will be held one of the last two weekends of August. The exact date is still being finalized, but if you want to be on the email distribution for the meeting, please send a note to Don at [email protected].

Even if you can't attend the meeting, your suggestions and feedback are valuable as we evaluate past seasons and explore the future, and you are encouraged to submit them to us prior to the meeting.   We will be reviewing the just-concluded season, planning the Youth program for the next two summers, filling the December 2017 Main Season slot with a show, and beginning work on the 2018-2019 Main Season.

For directors and potential directors: whether it is a Main Season idea, a Youth production, or maybe something a bit offbeat that we might do as an add-on to the main season, you are encouraged to visit www.fctstage.org/directors and download our Director Proposal form.  Submit as many as you like; the bigger the pool of proposals, the better.
