The Fauquier Community Theatre presents:
For some wild fun....join FCT as the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm are turned on their heads in this fast-paced, rollicking ride as two narrators and several actors attempt to combine all 209 stories ranging from classics like Snow White, Cinderella, and Hansel and Gretel to more bizarre, obscure stories like The Devil's Grandmother and The Girl Without Hands. A wild, free-form comedy and madcap fun!

Good theatre should be thought-provoking. It should make us look at the world from different perspectives. So consider these questions:

Little Red Riding Hood - innocent victim or violent sociopath?
Rapunzel - cloistered princess or spoiled brat?
The Wicked Stepmother - menace or misunderstood?

Explore the truth behind these stories and many others, as Fauquier Community Theatre presents THE BROTHERS GRIMM SPECTACULATHON, a hilariously irreverent retelling of the stories you thought you knew.

Each summer, FCT provides an opportunity for youth ages 16 to 23 to stage a production where they not only fill all the acting roles, but also take on the other tasks that go into producing a stage play: director, producer, stage manager, lighting and sound, costume design, and hair and makeup design. Many of our young people aspire to study theatre in college, or are already doing so, and FCT supports their development with an environment in which to grow.

Directed by James Masten and Evelyn Rice, the show will be presented on August 7, 8, 9, 14, 15 and 16, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Tickets are $10 and are available online at www.fctstage.org. Rated PG 13

FCT's Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol

Directed by Maggie Bausch
Produced by Laurie Bersack

Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol is a modern, surreal and comedic take on the Dickens classic. Told from the point of view of Scrooge's chain rattling (and deceased) business partner, the story takes shape in the afterlife. This play will be an exploration of storytelling, and the actors should be the type who are eager to explore the magical space of theatre, stories and dreams. They need a willingness to work, experiment, and be a fool for a good story. We are looking for a group of  performers who are passionate about storytelling through theatre.
