Last Weekend for FCT's

Far From Home

A WWII Canteen Show!!

Far From Home
A WWII Canteen Show

A Surprisingly Different Season Opener
Fauquier Community Theatre is presenting a unique and exciting opening musical this season. Bob Hope will be hosting a 1940s  style  variety show filled to the brim with lots of popular stars of the 40s covering some of the most beautiful, romantic, and timeless hits of the World War II era. You will also experience some of Abbott and Costello's most mind boggling feats of logic and comedy with an appearance by Captain America and his dance troupe convincing you to support our wounded warriors...sorry, they had to find a new cause since War Bonds no longer exist.

A Tribute to our Troops
This musical does not have a "story" so much as its intent is to portray America and some of what was happening back at home and taking that entertainment overseas to our troops. And forgive us if we take a sentimental journey into the past to do so.

Come enjoy an excellent night of music and comedy featuring such stars as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Jane Russell, Mel Torme, Rosemary Clooney, Doris Day, Shirley Temple, and Nat King Cole. Take a sentimental journey back with us to an unforgettable time in history where the stars made us love them.

FCT Gives Back
A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to the actual USO which so richly blesses the lives of all our military service members. Our usual 50/50 raffles proceeds all go to support the Wounded Warrior Project.

The musical runs October 3-19. Curtain time on Friday and Saturday nights is 8 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets range from $16 (students and senior citizens) to $18 (adults) and can be purchased and printed online at FCTstage.org or by leaving a message at 540-349-8760. FCT wishes to thank Discovery Publications for their sponsorship of this 9 performance run production.
