FCT Presents
Based on Louisa May Alcott's enduring classic, Little Women follows the beloved stories of the March sisters as they come of age in Civil War America. This timeless captivating story is brought to life in this glorious musical filled with personal discovery, heartache, hope, and everlasting love.
Settle into the front parlor of the March sisters, and you are guaranteed a heartwarming evening in the company of four "Little Women."
From its precocious characters to its three tragedies, TheatreWorks' musical version of Louisa May Alcott's cherished novel may well be the perfect fare for a multigenerational family treat. If the 19th-century coming-of-age tale veers into unabashedly sentimental territory, perhaps that's what we yearn for, a chance to relive the giddy and tearful nature of being young and innocent of the ravages of time. Sensitively directed by Nancy Daugherty, this lovely "Little Women" holds court from May 2 - May 18 at the theatre at Vint Hill.
Alcott based the story on her own life story and there's no denying the earnestness and simplicity of her narrative. From the unshakable nature of the sisterly bond to the horrors of unexpected loss, "Little Women" mingles truth with nostalgia.
The musical which is suitable for all ages will be presented May 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18. Curtain time is 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays. An adult ticket is $18; senior citizen and student tickets are $16. Tickets can be purchased online at FCTstage.org. A combined ticket of $40 for seniors, $32 for students and $42 for adults to see the show and enjoy dinner at The Inn at Vint Hill is available for the May 4 performance. The dinner includes appetizers, buffet dinner, and dessert. Cash bar is available.

Leaders Needed
Fauquier Community Theatre is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership. Three positions on this Board come up for renewal each spring at the Annual Meeting. If you have the time and the willingness to work to lead FCT into the future, please consider service on the Board. While experience onstage or backstage is obviously a plus, the main role of a non-profit Board is to set policy, do strategic planning, and raise the funds needed to keep the organization financially healthy and position it for future growth. People with business experience in the areas of planning and fundraising would be very helpful. Experience in grant-writing and marketing would also be useful. Someone with basic financial management skills would be a welcome help to the Treasurer. Managing a non-profit organization successfully is a team effort. Please contact the Chairman, Don Richardson, at Chairman@FCTstage.org to find out more and let us know of your interest.

FCT needs volunteers for the following areas:
1. Promote FCT at the Home and Garden Show on April 26th at the Fauquier County Fairgrounds at FCT's booth. Time slots are 9-11, 11-1, 1-3.
2. Person who is experienced and interested in writing grants
3. Fundraising Development Committee Members
4. Promote FCT at the Warrenton Spring Festival May 17th on Main St. Warrenton at FCT's booth. Time slots are 9-11, 11-1, 1-3.
5. Someone who would consider taking posters to the local businesses (60) and hanging them up for each of our shows. This just takes about 3-4 hours and is done about every other month.
Please contact us at Christie@FCTstage.org if you are interested in helping in any of the above areas. Thanks ahead of time!

Interested in Hosting a High School Exchange Student?
If you love the theatre, would you consider hosting a High School Exchange Student who shares your interests? An amazing girl from Russia needs a home for the 2014-2015 school year. Yuliya is into drama and has the lead role in "Alice in Wonderland" this year in her theatre group back home. She also enjoys art, jogging and swimming. Matching students with families who share their interests is our goal, and this girl is just one of several students who are active in drama groups in their home countries. They each want to experience theatre in America and to live as a member of your family, experiencing everyday life with you. Academic Year in America (AYA) is a trusted organization that has been working with international teens for over 25 years. Hosting is an experience that will change your life. We have students from over 40 countries, and they need host families like you. Whether you have little children, older children, children all grown up, or no children at all, we have the right student for you. The sooner we can complete your placement, the better our chances of getting a school slot in the Northern Virginia area, and the sooner you can start talking to your new family member. Schools fill up their exchange student quotas quickly, so please do not delay in contacting Louise for more information at LouiseNVA@cox.net, or by phone at 540-286-1561.Please join us this year in hosting a great exchange student. You will love it!" [Note from Don Richardson: Louise is my daughter's mother-in-law and has been hosting exchange students for some time. If you are interested, PLEASE contact her right away - time is short and the process needs to wrap up by the end of April if not sooner! Be sure to mention you are associated with FCT.]
