The
North Dakota Association of Oil and Gas Producing Counties (NDAOGPC) would like to make a correction to its article entitled "Western ND County Roads to See Improvements" that was in the May 27, 2013 edition of the NDAOGPC Newsletter. In the piece, it was stated that Burke County stands to receive a portion of the $120 million set for distribution to counties that receive less than $5 million in oil and gas gross production tax (GPT) revenue in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2012.
While this was true in the final version of
HB 1358, Sections 32 and 33 of another bill (
HB 1015) changed the language of HB 1358 to include Burke County as a county eligible to receive a portion of the
$160 million for distribution to counties receiving $5 million or more of GPT revenue. To make this so, the state fiscal year used to determine eligibility was changed from FY 2012 to FY 2013, which ends June 30, 2013.
We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you will continue to rely on the North Dakota Association of Oil and Gas Producing Counties for the most up to date and accurate information that we can provide.
