Therapy Tip

Inflammation Therapy becomes less complicated with time.  Symptom resolution significantly improves for most within two years as inflammation is reduced.  Treatment isn't complete until all the antibiotic combinations have been used for varying periods of time and repeated until there is no immune system reaction.  Treatment requires several years in order to avoid intolerable Jarisch-Herxheimer reactions.  Dramatic improvement has been seen in a wide variety of chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases (e.g., reduction in inflammatory symptoms, normalization of lab work, improvement in bone density and correction of hormonal imbalances).

Recovery Reports

We are contacted daily by people with chronic illnesses who are looking for an effective treatment. Many ask us to provide evidence of efficacy in the form of statistics or stories. If you have recovered your health or had significant symptom improvement with Inflammation Therapy (or a similar treatment), please help us 'pay it forward' by telling your story. We will post it in the public section of our website to encourage others. Any report, short or long, with or without objective data (e.g., lab results, imaging reports) would be helpful. Please

send your story to

our email .

Thank you!

Greetings!

Our Library of Information provides much learning for understanding and treating your condition.  Try making it a habit to read one article per day.

Most patients with Th1/Th17 inflammation have been ill a long time and many are very eager to get well. But the recovery process cannot be hurried because it requires killing the intracellular bacteria that are the underlying cause of chronic inflammatory diseases. Slow and steady wins the race.

The goal of IT is to kill the intracellular bacteria in a safe way that is sustainable, both mentally and physically, for the length of what is usually a treatment of several years. No matter how eager patients are to get well, it is rarely a good idea to try to push the process.

About Inflammation Therapy

Inflammation Therapy (IT) is a recently developed method of treating chronic inflammation which is within the realm of western medicine; it does not fall under the category of alternative or complementary medicine (e.g., acupuncture, homeopathy, Aruyveda, etc).

The practice of Inflammation Therapy evolved from theories based on current scientific evidence and only uses prescription medications (an angiotensin receptor blocker and oral antibiotics). These medications are used off-label; that means they're prescribed for uses other than what the FDA has approved. This is legal and common; about one in five prescriptions are written off-label (May 23, 2012 Consumer Reports). The doses and schedules of these medications are specific to Inflammation Therapy but are within the boundaries of standard medical practice and FDA-approved doses.

In the absence of clinical trials, the determination of when to use olmesartan and low-dose antibiotics as immunotherapy is made on the basis of diagnosis, severity of symptoms, history, potential disease course, previous treatments attempted, efficacy of traditional treatments and risk versus potential benefit. Clinical practice has demonstrated the safety and success of this unique approach to treating autoimmune and inflammatory conditions which are resistant to other treatments. Many doctors are taking advantage of this emerging new drug use because their patients cannot afford to wait for formal proof of efficacy.

Scientific Articles

Emerging Infectious Determinants of Chronic Diseases

"Evidence now confirms that noncommunicable chronic diseases can stem from infectious agents."

Demystifying Pleomorphic Forms in Persistence and Expression of Disease: Are They Bacteria, and Is Peptidoglycan the Solution?

"If pleomorphic forms in tissues are confirmed as bacteria by sensitive and specific methodology, the clinical and research implications are unlimited: and have the potential for clarifying the mysterious and poorly understood host-pathogen interactions in persistent infections and expression of innumerable idiopathic diseases."

What is a pathogen?

"Attempts to classify microbes as pathogens, non-pathogens, opportunists, commensals and so forth are misguided because they attribute a property to the microbe that is instead a function of the host, the microbe, and their interaction."

About Chronic Illness Recovery

Chronic Illness Recovery has created a secure, private interactive forum to provide a vehicle for RNs to counsel patients on Inflammation Therapy. CIR nurses monitor and advise patients through the recovery process while keeping their doctor informed each step of the way.

These nurses, who generously donate their time, have counseled over a thousand patients and thoroughly understand how to manage immune system reactions.

Patients enrolled in the CIR counseling program receive:

  • frequent monitoring via online reports or telephone
  • assessment for compliance and safety
  • suggestions regarding medication adjustments based on physician's standing orders
  • educational materials from our extensive, easy-to-read Library of Information to ensure understanding of the treatment and recovery process
  • emotional support and practical information via a general discussion forum for non-medical issues and questions

Interested patients should send an email and ask for an enrollment form.

Or call 1-888-846-2474 toll-free for a free initial consultation.

"I am amazed at how far I've come with your help. I get caught up in the details, and day to day little problems that need adjusting in the therapy. I don't often step back and look at my overall progress. I am so grateful to all of you for getting me this far. Your help has been invaluable." GreenMtGirl

"CIR has been helpful and positive in providing information and assisting in the treatment of my inflammatory condition - Sarcoidosis."

Survey

Volunteers who have a diagnosis of autoimmune or inflammatory disease or are chronically ill but who are not being treated with Inflammation Therapy, the Marshall Protocol or the Stillpoint Protocol are needed to be in the control group of our long-term clinical study.

If you meet these criteria and would like to take part in this project (which will only take a few minutes each month), please contact us at our email address.
