Won't You Help Us?
Today is #GivingTuesday, a day set aside to encourage personal philanthropy across the country. We ask all of our friends to participate in this national movement by starting your holiday season with a donation to the Bronx Charter School for Better Learning.
All contributions made in honor of #GivingTuesday will directly benefit our After School Program.
A donation of $10 allows one student to participate in an enrichment program such as archery, tennis, culinary arts, drama, and robotics...for the entire year! More importantly, your donation allows students to participate in activities that support their academic, personal, and social growth. Watch our After School Program video to learn more.
This is who we are:
Pre-K - 5th Grade Elementary School
492 student enrollment (2300 students on our wait list)
100% minority students (mostly from the Caribbean and Africa)
80% poverty level
This is what our students can do:
Our students outperform ALL peer groups (including NY State) on state-wide exams in Reading, Writing and Mathematics.
80% of our graduates enter competitive middle schools.
Kindergartners do algebra. (Seriously!)
Acclaimed author Georgia Heard used examples of our students' successful writing in her most recent book, and has noted elsewhere that our students are "some of the best writers" she's come across.
Every day small groups of students participate in public speaking via our school-wide Morning Meeting broadcast.
Almost all students have participated in our unique Korean program.
