Our Project FOCUS is dedicated to supporting students with intellectual and physical disabilities. We've designed innovative curricula for students, built on technologies such as the Apple iPad, to help them overcome challenges and ultimately thrive.
While Project FOCUS provides iPads to each of its students, many struggle with grasping and balancing the iPad while shooting video. While searching for tools and technologies to enhance the overall university experience for her students with disabilities, Phyllis Brodsky, project coordinator for Project FOCUS, discovered iOgrapher, which has built-in handles and tripod mounts.
"When I found the iOgrapher, my first thought was how this product could have an unexpected, yet significant impact on people with disabilities," said Brodsky. Read more in Software Industry Today and Creative Cow.

Teachers and Principals: Help Spread Cheer to our Troops
Southern Arizona is home to nearly 100,000 veterans and thousands of men and women who serve in the Armed Forces. Congressman Ron Barber's office is working to ensure they know how much our community appreciates their sacrifices. For the fifth year, his office is asking students to create holiday cards for both active-duty service members and veterans.
Please ask school principals and teachers to ask students to participate in this fun activity. Holiday cards may be decorated with holiday themes, snowflakes, and snowmen telling members of the military and veterans that they are important and their work is not going unnoticed.
Please have students sign the card and include school name and address so recipients have the option to reply. Cards do not need envelopes, but if envelopes are used, they must be unsealed and unaddressed. Messages inside the card might be: "Thank you for all you do." "We appreciate your service to our country." "Wishing you a healthy, happy holiday."
Cards are collected at Congressman Barber's offices in Tucson and Sierra Vista. Cards may be packaged and mailed or dropped off from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, from now through Dec. 11, although they'd love to get them as soon as possible.
The cards will then be distributed to active military members and veterans across Southern Arizona.
