The Brooke Jackman Foundation (BJF) will host the
8th Annual Brooke Jackman Race for Literacy on Saturday, May 18th at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School in Oyster Bay, New York.
The Race for Literacy plays a central role in helping BJF carry out its mission of creating and supporting programs that enhance children's literacy and level the academic playing field for youngsters in low income communities. Every runner or walker helps the Foundation make great strides toward increasing literacy among young people in need.
Funds raised through the event, which will include a 5K run/walk as well as a ¼ mile fun run for children ages eight and under, will support BJF's many children's literacy initiatives, including the Brooke Jackman Family Literacy Programs, the Brooke Jackman Library Initiative, and Brooke's Books, which benefit children in need throughout the New York area.
The race, which is part of the 10th Annual Health and Fitness Fair sponsored by the Oyster Bay Chamber of Commerce and Senator Carl L. Marcellino, will feature a new race course this year over the scenic roads of the villages of Oyster Bay and Oyster Bay Cove.
Sponsorship opportunities are available at levels of $250, $600 and $1,000. In addition, signage opportunities along the race route are available for $400. Email info@brookejackmanfoundation.org for more information.
Whether you plan on running, walking or cheering friends and family from the sidelines, there are a number of ways to get involved.
