A Benefit for La Peña de Berkeley's Iconic
Song of Unity Mural
A lively evening with Luis Valverde's "Andean Dance Troupe," traditional Chilean Folklore "Araucaria Dance Ensemble," and traditional Afro-Peruvian dances "De Rompe y Raja," to celebrate the onset of summer and raise funds for the New Song of Unity Mural. The dancers will showcase various traditional dances from the Southern Cone such as La Cueca, El Landó, and La Marinera.

 Neruda's poetry has been an inspiration to countless generations of artists to create music, plays and art in celebration of the plethora of themes in his vast body of work. Join us for a celebration of music, dance and poetry in tribute to the extraordinary Chilean poet laureate Pablo Neruda, awarded the Nobel Prize of Literature in 1971, born on this day July 12, 1904. The program includes:
