As you know, Viña del Mar and Sausalito have a Sister City relationship since 1960, which has been reinvigorated during the last two years and is an important link between California and Chile. In addition to its sister city relationship with Viña del Mar, Sausalito also has a sister city relationship with Sakaide in Japan, and will soon have a third such relationship with Cascais in Portugal. On the evening of Saturday, August 11, from 5:00 to 7:00PM, Sausalito's three sister city groups will host a "Three Sisters" event to celebrate those three relationships, including the food, wine and culture of Chile, Japan and Portugal. We understand they expect to serve samples of both empanadas and completos to represent Chile, as well as some delicious examples of Japanese and Portuguese cuisine. All of the proceeds of the event will to go support the Viña del Mar and other sister city programs. The event will take place at the Sausalito Portuguese Hall, 511 Caledonia Street, Sausalito.
More information about the event, together with a link to an online site where you can purchase tickets, is avaiable on the attached flyer and on the new Sausalito Sister Cities website at www.sausalitosistercities.org.
