Updates

Thank you to everyone who attended our first Local Foods BBQ during the Keene Music Festival on August 31st.  We served 300 plates of food featuring locally-raised and grown goodness from Mayfair Farm, Harlow Farm and Tracie's Community Farms.  What a fantastic way to celebrate local food, local music and the end of the summer - and we look forward to next year!

Last weekend, Co-op Staff and Board Members attended Neighboring Food Co-op's Fall Gathering in Shelburne Falls, MA where we connected with over 100 others Co-ops and learned more about their Healthy Food Access Programs.  Faye Conte from Hunger Free VT shared her perspective on hunger in New England and how Co-ops can create a more welcoming and accessible place for all. We hope you will attend our Take Your Place at the Table Event and learn how you can support community initiatives to prevent hunger and obesity, while strengthening our local food system.

Also, please mark your calendars and join us for our next Member Appreciation Day on Saturday, October 5th and our Annual Meeting on Sunday, October 27th at Stonewall Farm in Keene.

Yours Cooperatively,
Michael Faber

2013 Monadnock Food Co-op
Annual Meeting:
Honoring the Past, Celebrating the Present, Creating the Future
Sunday, October 27, 3 - 5 pm
Stonewall Farm, Keene

Come celebrate the opening of our Co-op -- and honor all the hard work, offered by you, our friends and neighbors, to make our Co-op happen.  Meet some of our local farmers and producers who sell their goods at the Co-op, including Chris Caserta from Walpole Valley Farms.  Chris will share the impact the Co-op has had on his family business and the potential our Co-op has to strengthen our local economy.

Enjoy music, tastings, and children's activities plus a pie baking contest (featuring local ingredients).  There will also be plenty of opportunities to share your feedback and ask questions.

Stay tuned for a full schedule and slate of Board Nominees.

Shopper Suggestions & Questions
In response to all of your feedback, we continue to add new products, create more signage and make other changes to better meet our community's needs.  Have a suggestion or question for us?  Share it today.

Q: Where is our Co-op's gluten-free section?

A:  Instead of a section with just gluten-free items, we've dispersed these products throughout the store by category.  To help shoppers more easily find these items, we recently added a new shelf tag.  Look for this sign under gluten-free items:
Please be sure to confirm, on the product itself, that the item is gluten-free. During your next shopping trip if you still can't find your favorite gluten-free items at our Co-op, please be sure to add a suggestion in our box at customer service.
