For the first time, WDMA Legislative Conference attendees will have the opportunity to hear from top lobbyists from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) as they share their perspective on their industry agendas in Washington, what's in store for the remainder of the year and the impact of the upcoming elections on the housing and manufacturing sectors.
Speakers:
Jim Tobin is Executive Vice President and Chief Lobbyist for the Government Affairs and Communications Group at the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Jim is responsible for all of NAHB's federal, state and local lobbying, as well as its political action committee, BUILD PAC. His past policy experience has concentrated on tax and environmental policy. Jim was previously Vice President for Federal Relations at NAHB and is a former staffer for Rep. Frank Riggs (R-CA) and Gary Franks (R-CT).
Joe Trauger is Vice President of Government Relations for the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). He serves as the senior lobbyist for NAM and previously served as the Vice President of Human Resources Policy for NAM handling health care, labor, workforce and immigration issues. Prior to joining NAM, Joe operated his own consulting practice, JT Consulting, and also lobbied on health care issues for the Healthcare Distribution Management Association and The Federalist Group. He also spent more than 10 years on Capitol Hill working for a U.S. senator, several U.S. representatives and was principal advisor on health care in the offices of the House Majority Leader and Majority Whip.
