Kid's Corner

Let's Get Ready for Fall Children and Youth Programs Cookout and Party!

Wednesday, August 20, 6:00PM

If you have children or grandchildren preschool through middle school age or just love kids, we need your help!

Please come to this cookout, at Noah Evans and Sara Irwin's House, 260 Grove Street, Medford, (Location if there is rain:  Grace Church Parish Hall) followed by an informal meeting to discuss the 2014-2015 educational programs at Grace Church, which will include a Sunday school program and Wednesdays at Grace Classes. We are in need of your ideas, opinions, and help, to make the coming year fun and educational for all of our children! This cookout will also be an opportunity to meet and greet the Reverend Maggie and for her to get to know you. We will also be looking at possibilities for Sunday school curriculums for the coming year. Bring kids, parents, everyone!

PLEASE BRING A DISH TO PASS.  Hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks will be provided.

History has shown that the success of these programs is based on the dedication, commitment and volunteerism of the many wonderful families here at Grace! So bring your calendar/planner so that we can firm up our plans, and sign up to teach, assist in classes and cook for Wednesday Nights.

Christian Education Meeting...after the 9 o'clock service on Sunday, August 24th:

Do you have a child or grandchild  in Sunday School or a Wednesdays at Grace class? Have you taught Sunday School? Are you on the Christian Education Committee? Maybe you are none of these, but do you secretly long to be part of an amazing experience of growing in your own faith and helping form young people as disciples and activists? Or do you quake with terror at the thought of leading a Sunday School class, but are an expert in manga or bluegrass music, debating, woodworking, or balloon sculpture? Grace Church needs your skills, your excitement, your ideas! Come and join Rev. Maggie after church next Sunday to talk about our church school programs for the coming year.

Godly Play Training at Grace Church

Grace Church is tentatively hosting Godly Play teacher trainings for the New England region on September 19-21st. During this training participants experience all aspects of the Godly Play method and begin to become fluent in the Godly Play core stories and lessons. Core training follows an action/reflection model of learning with a mixture of trainer-led presentations and participant storytelling presentations. Core training plenary presentations cover: the Spirituality of the Child, Setting up a Godly Play Environment and Supporting the Circle of Children. This will be a wonderful opportunity to become a Godly Play teacher, with the training right here at Grace Church! Let Noah if you are interested, or might be interested in this.
