Green Up Clean Up
Improving Medford's Open Spaces

Green Up Clean Up is a program of Grace Church, in conjunction with the City of Medford and many participating local organizations and individuals. We would like your help to identify parks and open spaces that could use our attention and organizations that would be interested in partnering with us on cleanups. Previous projects have included picking up trash, pruning, spreading new sand or wood chips, removing graffiti and painting. We are already have several projects planned for this spring and we would like to identify several more of interest to the community.

Additionally, the Greening Grace Committee is looking for volunteers to solicit donations of food and coffee to have at the cleanups and for volunteers to post cleanups on local calendars such as the Patch and to represent Grace at cleanups. If you are interested in any of the above, or have suggestions or requests for areas to focus on, please email:

greenupcleanup@gracemedford.org

Please join us for cleanups this year at:

*Saturday April 5, 9AM-Noon - Capen Street Park with Tufts University
*Saturday April 26, 9:30AM-1PM - Mystic River Cleanup  organized by Friends of the Mystic River and supported by the Mystic Valley Deanery to honor Rt. Rev. M. Thomas Shaw on his retirement as Bishop of the Diocese of Massachusetts
  • Sunday in May - Victory Park with Temple Shalom

Love, Loss and What I Wore

Friday, April 4 at 7:00 PM at Grace Church

Have you ever gone through boxes of old clothes and discovered a shirt, or a pair of pants, or a coat that brings back old memories? Can you remember the robe your mother wore when you were a child? Or the first time you bought a bra? Or your prom dress? Girl Scout uniform? Those old boots you loved in college?

Love, Loss and What I Wore is a play written by Nora and Delia Ephron based on the 1995 book of the same name by Ilene Beckerman. It is organized as a series of monologues and has a cast of five principal women which includes Brenda Pearson, June Pietrantoni and Sarah Masciave. The play revolves around memories we have that revolve around the clothes we remember best! Its' about purses and friendship, shoes and tragedy, coats and love, and robes and loss. It is, at heart, about being a woman. The show encapsulates these moments and uses them to explore what it means to be a mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, girlfriend or wife.

Please join us on Friday April 4th at 7pm in Wiles Hall for an enjoyable evening of comedy which will benefit the youth groups, J2A and Rite 13, of Grace Church. You can also help us to fill up our clothing pantry by bringing an item or two for donation. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door.
