 Welcome!
Please join us at
Grace Church.

On Sunday, we celebrate the Eucharist at 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM.  Sunday School begins promptly at 9:45 AM

Sunday Evening Worship at 5:00 PM.
Who says pop music can't be spiritual? Have you ever wanted to sing your favorite songs in worship? Well, now's your chance! Beginning January 26, we will be having Playlists in Epiphany 5:00 worship in the parish hall. The music will be chosen by members of our congregation, including Patrick Hardy and Molly Fenn, with each week through March 2 featuring a different person's playlist. Come join us for this fun and delightfully unorthodox way of worshiping and celebrating the Epiphany season!

*Immunity to Change: Saturday Workshop
Saturday, February 1, 2014
9:00AM - Noon

childcare available
Led by: The Reverend Noah H. Evans
A New Year is often a time when we think about making changes in our lives. But, real change can be hard.  This three part workshop is about making real change in your own life through exploring your own "Immunity to Change."  While on sabbatical, our Rector Noah was trained by Harvard Professors Robert Kegan and Lisa Lahey in their "technology" for change based on their theories of adult development and learning. They regularly consult with leaders in the business and non-profit sectors to change the way leaders help teams function at all levels. Come experience your own "Immunity to Change" map, and explore how this developmental framework may help us unlock our ability to make real changes in our lives, and our world around us.  This workshop covers the same material as was done during Wednesdays at Grace during January.  It is for those who were not able to make in on those Wednesday nights or would like to cover the same material again.  Please RSVP is you need childcare to noah@gracemedford.org.

Book Club

On January 16, 2014, we're discussing Pilgrim at Tinker Creek by Annie Dillard and on February 20, 2014, we're reading The Art Forger by B. A. Shapiro. The Grace Church Women's Book Club meets on the third Thursday each month at 7:00 pm. We welcome any woman to join us at any meeting. Please contact Genita  at pawleyslegacy@verizon.net for meeting locations.

Senior Men's Lunch

The next Senior Men's Lunch will be Wednesday, January 29 at noon at John Brewers Tavern in Malden.  Please RSVP to the Parish Office.

Guest Preacher on February 2nd

and special forum on BSAFE

On Sunday, February 2nd, we welcome the Reverend Liz Steinhauser, Director of Youth Programs for St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Boston's South End.  St. Stephen's Youth Programs include BSAFE, which Grace Church supports each summer at its site at St. Luke's in Chelsea.  B-SAFE provides a safe, fun, academically enriching environment for elementary and middle school students each summer. Liberation theology helped develop Liz's commitment to social justice, and Girl Scouts helped build her arts and crafts skills and her repertoire of goofy songs. Liz is a graduate of Colgate University and Harvard Divinity School and is an ordained priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts. She lives in Jamaica Plain with her eight-year old son, Heschel.  Join us after church that Sunday for a special discussion about BSAFE in the Common Room.

Service of the Four Chaplains

Sunday, February 2, 2:00 PM

Grace Episcopal Church, Medford

This interfaith service is to commemorate the four chaplains (on Jewish, one Catholic and two Protestant) who died in 1943 saving the lives of many sailors as the USAT Dorchester was tragically sunk.   This service is organized by the Medford American Legion.  The Reverend Noah Evans, our Rector, will be participating and this year Grace Church will be hosting.  Please come and join this interfaith celebration of heroic cooperation and service.

The Greening Grace Committee Wants You!
The Greening Grace Committee has run a number of successful projects and programs in recent years including Green Up Clean Up, the Terracycle alternative recycling campaign, bringing in guest speakers and the installation of Grace's solar array. Under the leadership of Jonathan and Alicia Hunt, the committee won a leadership award from Interfaith Power and Light for its work. The Committee is looking for new members to work on ongoing and new projects. Please talk to Jonathan (jmhunt@mit.edu) or Alicia (iggy@alum.mit.edu) if you are interested in getting involved with environmental issues through Grace Church. Meeting times and activities will be determined by the needs of the committee members.
