This Sunday is "Sundae Sunday!"
An annual tradition, we end Stewardship season with turning in our pledge cards and an ice cream sundae at coffee hour.
Outreach Corner

Grace Church will be helping with a Thanksgiving dinner at St. Luke's Community Kitchen again this year.    There are several ways to help:

Provide green beans - these can be brought to Grace Church on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. You can also donate money for veggies. Just place cash or a check, clearly marked "For St Luke's Thanksgiving" in the collection plate, or give to someone on the Outreach Committee.

Provide cans of whole cranberries - 6 cans needed

Provide apple pies - 4 needed

Provide aerosol cans of whipped cream - 6 needed

Help serve!  Volunteers are also needed to help out on Thanksgiving Day. 6 volunteers and 6 alternate volunteers needed:  2 volunteers (2 alternate volunteers) for 8-11AM shift, and 4 volunteers (4 alternate volunteers) for 11AM-2:30PM shift.  Alternate volunteers will be used if original volunteers are unable to come; final schedule will be established on 17 November.

The next opportunity to help at St. Luke's Community Dining is November 30.  Please contact Brenda Pearson at
if you are interested in volunteering or have questions.

Food is needed for the food pantries that Grace Episcopal Church supports. Food items may be placed in the baskets just outside the main entrance to the sanctuary (an usher can help you locate them).
The items for Sunday, November 24 and for Sunday December 1 are jelly or peanut butter.

There is a basket at the back of the sanctuary to collect donations to help victims of the natural disaster in the Philippines.  Please make checks payable to Episcopal Relief and Development, with a notation that it's for the Philippines in the memo line.  We have collected $498 to date. Thank you!

The Giving Tree

Grace Church is partnering with the Medford Family Network (MFN) again this year to provide Christmas presents (warm winter clothes, toys and games) for Medford families in need.  Here's how it works:

  • The Giving Tree will be up in the parish hall by the end of November
  • There will be stars on the tree, each representing an item that Marie Cassidy from the Medford Family Network has on her "wish list" for Medford families during this holiday season (for example, the star will say "doll for a 2-year-old")
  • You can take a star and sign the star list (which will be near the tree) - so we'll know who took which star
  • Purchase the item on the star, and place under the tree (unwrapped) along with the star by Sunday 15 December
  • The Rite 13 class will wrap the presents, and the Outreach Committee will get them to the MFN

Kid's Corner

Rehearsal dates will be: Saturday December 14th 10AM-noon and Saturday December 21st 10AM -noon.  If you're interested in being in this year's Christmas Pageant please contact me james@gracemedford.org or our director, Laura Duggan lrduggan@aol.com.

Thank you, panelists, for taking part in the History of Grace event on Sunday, and Dee Morris for "coaxing" them to respond.

There is only so much the archives can offer when it comes to sharing the parishioner experience and your comments said a lot. We in the audience sat in anticipation of the next story.

On behalf of the MHSM and myself, thanks again,

Allison Andrews
