Sunday Evening Worship at 5:00 PM continues!  Sunday, November 10th:  Candlelit Eucharist. Please come and join us!

Take some time to watch Bishop Shaw's meditations from the Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts' last weekend, and Bishop Gayle Harris' sermon. Bishop Shaw talks about  Grace Church, Medford in his second meditation, where he also announces his retirement. All worth watching and pondering!

An annual tradition, we will end Stewardship season with turning in our pledge cards and an ice cream sundae at coffee hour.
Outreach Corner

Grace Church will be helping with a Thanksgiving dinner at St. Luke's Community Kitchen again this year.    There are several ways to help:

Provide green beans - these can be brought to Grace Church on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. You can also donate money for veggies. Just place cash or a check, clearly marked "For St Luke's Thanksgiving" in the collection plate, or give to someone on the Outreach Committee.

Provide cans of whole cranberries - 6 cans needed

Provide apple pies - 4 needed

Provide aerosol cans of whipped cream - 6 needed

Help serve!  Volunteers are also needed to help out on Thanksgiving Day. 6 volunteers and 6 alternate volunteers needed:  2 volunteers (2 alternate volunteers) for 8-11AM shift, and 4 volunteers (4 alternate volunteers) for 11AM-2:30PM shift.  Alternate volunteers will be used if original volunteers are unable to come; final schedule will be established on 17 November.

The next opportunity to help at St. Luke's Community Dining is November 30.  Please contact Brenda Pearson at
if you are interested in volunteering or have questions.

Food is needed for the food pantries that Grace Episcopal Church supports. Food items may be placed in the baskets just outside the main entrance to the sanctuary (an usher can help you locate them).
The items for Sunday, November 10 are jelly, peanut butter or sunflower seed butter.  The item for Sunday, November 17 is coffee.

Kid's Corner

Eva Englert will plant bulbs in the church lawn with children during coffee hour following the 10:00 AM service.  Please dress accordingly!

The Christmas season is almost upon us and we are looking for people to be in the pageant. Rehearsal dates will be: Saturday December 14th 10AM-noon and Saturday December 21st 10AM -noon.  If you're interested in being in this year's Christmas Pageant please contact me james@gracemedford.org or our director, Laura Duggan lrduggan@aol.com.

"Do the Math" film showing and discussion with Anne Goldman

November 13

You've heard the buzz words... "climate justice," "economic justice," "divestment." But what do they really mean, and what do we do with them? Anne Goldman, an emerging climate activist and member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Newton Highlands, will be joining Grace Church for Adult Ed. She will be showing the film "Do the Math," based on a nationwide fossil fuel divestment speaking tour taken by climate author/activist Bill McKibben and 350.org last year. Anne will also facilitate a Q & A session on why divestment is important to this issue and how our own diocese is getting involved.

Preparing for Advent for all ages

November 20

Join us for an evening of family fun and creativity ! All adults and children's classes will be gathered together in the parish hall to take part in activities to get ready for Advent, the season of preparation before Christmas. We will make Advent wreaths, play games (like Advent Trivia!) and prepare ourselves for the holiday season. If you are able, please bring $6 to help offset the cost of supplies for wreaths. Talk to James or Eva if you have questions!

Senior Men's Lunch

The next Senior Men's Lunch will be Wednesday, November 6 at noon at John Brewers Tavern in Malden.  Please RSVP to the Parish Office.

Parish Prayer List

During the season of Advent we will be reading all of the names on the parish prayer list during worship. In preparation for this Advent, all names on the prayer list will be removed after November 17.  If you have names you would like to remain on the list after then, please contact Carol in the Parish Office at office@gracemedford.org.  Names usually stay on the list for three weeks, unless the office is otherwise notified.

Richardson church and a display of artifacts.  The event is free and open to the public.  Refreshments will be served.
