"Universal Grace: Give bread to those who are Hungry and Hunger for Justice to those who have bread."
Grace Church has the opportunity to participate in a meaningful and powerful activity to learn about and be in solidarity with food insecure persons in our communities, nation and world. The 2012-2013 LDI Team will be participating in and hosting a SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) Challenge from May 12-15, as part of its work this year around food security issues and community gardening. We are asking interested folks to participate in this Challenge, which allows us to get an idea of what life can be like for millions of low-income Americans, by living on the average food stamp benefit for 2 or 3 days. Challenge participants are forced to make food shopping choices on a limited budget, and often how realize how difficult it is to avoid hunger, afford nutritious foods, and stay healthy with too few resources. The LDI team will then host a conversation about the experience for Adult Education at 6:45 on Wednesday, May 15 (although participating in the challenge is not a requirement for attending adult ed.). If you are interested, please talk to Eva Englert (eva@gracemedford.org) or Stephanie Ettinger de Cuba at sedc@bu.edu. Be on the lookout for more information about what the challenge looks like more specifically.

Let's Move! Medford
The good news is that Grace Church and the Medford community are really on the Move, from Zumba to Greening Up our city, building community gardens to walking (and training to walk) to end hunger! The unfortunate news is that Let's Move! Medford will not be happening this year due to other life commitments on the part of coordinators. We hope to see everyone for the event another year and thank you for the work that has been done this year.
