On Sunday, we celebrate the Eucharist at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM.  There is no Sunday School this week.  A children's sermon will be offered by James Liberge.  Nursery care is available for young children.

This is the last Sunday that our Rector, the Reverend Noah H. Evans, will be with us before he leaves on his sabbatical. Please come and wish him farewell. For more information about Grace Church during the sabbatical time, please see the Sabbatical Guide here.

Medford Clergy joined with the City this week to stand up against hate and bigotry in our city after racist and antisemitic graffiti was found in South Medford. Read more about it here. Also, our Rector, the Reverend Noah Evans, is cited in a Medford Transcript article about the Medford School Committee's passage of a new policy related to transgender students, read more about it here

Protestant worship services are held at Tufts in Goddard Chapel at 7:00 PM on Sunday evenings.  These services are coordinated by Rachael Pettengill-Rasure, Grace Church's Lay Assoc. for Student Ministry.

All are welcome to help, even if you only have an hour or two!

About Empty Bowls

Helping to feed people in need, Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger. The basic premise is simple: Potters and other craftspeople, educators and others work with the community to create handcrafted bowls. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread. In exchange for a cash donation, guests are asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. The money raised is donated to organizations working to end hunger and food insecurity.

The 2nd Annual Chelsea Empty Bowls event is Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 5:00-7:30 PM at The Williams School, 180 Walnut St., Chelsea. This year artists from the community and St. Luke's have created magnificent bowls from which you can eat your soup.   Please see Brenda Pearson for tickets and more information.

Food is needed for the food pantries that Grace Episcopal Church supports. Food items may be placed in the baskets just outside the main entrance to the sanctuary (an usher can help you locate them).  The item for Sunday, April 14 is peanut butter or sunflower seed butter.  The items for Sunday, April 21 are tuna or spam.
Kids Corner

There is no Sunday School today due to April Vacation. James Liberge will offer a children's sermon.

If you would like to sign your kids up for camp or you would like to sponsor a child to go to camp, please contact me at james@gracemedford.org for more information.
