Big Thank You to Coach Matt Buchi and alumni Eve Hampton for coming to Seattle to head up the 13th annual Dribble on Wheels basketball camp. Youth and adults from Washington, Oregon and Canada were introduced to basic skills, improved on drills, to emerging elite athletes learning National level skills. A great kick-off to an amazing season ahead.

Funds donated to Seattle Adaptive Sports, a non-profit 503(c)3 could be Tax Deductible and provides practice facilities, equipment, coaches expenses, activities, clinics and events to run our programs. 100% of your donation goes to providing these services for physically disabled youth and adults.

SEATTLE JAM Wheelchair Basketball Tournament
Saturday, December 1st - Sunday, December 2nd
The Seattle Sonics youth and adult basketball teams will host teams from Tacoma, Portland, Salem, Spokane and Vancouver, BC for qualifying to the National Wheelchair Basketball Associations (NWBA) National Championships in Louisville, KY, April 2013.
Stop by to watch some amazing basketball!!
~Volunteers needed~
We need Scorekeepers... there is 70 slots to be filled. No worries....there will be training provided and 3 different opportunities per court (scoreboard, recordkeeper or shot clock). Can you spend a couple of hours lending a hand to help? Don't like scorekeeping? We could use some help with registration/info table, setup, cleanup and serving lunch. Ms Wheelchair America recognizes the accomplishments of women who utilize wheelchairs for mobility. Organized in 1972 by Dr. Philip K. Wood as a forum for the promotion of

the achievements, as well as the needs, of people with mobility impairments, The non-profit program consists of State Coordinators and State Titleholders to include 30+ states. The state programs are staffed by volunteers dedicated to increasing public awareness so that all citizens will be afforded the opportunities to lead productive and meaningful lives.
Qualifications for Contestants:
- Must be a woman
- Must use a wheelchair for 100% of daily activities
- Must be a United States citizen
- Must be between 21 and 60 years old.
- Must be a resident of Washington for 6 months prior to the state pageant.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from appearances
- Must be available to fulfill the requirements of a state titleholder. These include travel within your state, travel to the national pageant, and numerous public appearances during the title holding year.
- Must possess good communication skills.

SIGN UP TODAY!! Seattle City League Basketball - Wheelchair Division
3 on 3 WHEELCHAIR Basketball League for Teens and Adults
Join a team for a 9 week league of competition and fun! Teams will be youth (15 yrs & up), women and men mixed. Beginner to novice players will have the opportunity to play in a competitive but friendly environment. All participants must have the ability to follow a sequence of instruction and have adequate upper body control to maneuver a manual wheelchair.
There are 8 games guaranteed plus play-offs. League play begins December 4.
Cost: $108 per team ($27.00 per player) Location: Miller Community Center 330 19th Ave E., Seattle
Days: Tuesday Time: 6 - 8:45pm Dates: December 4 - February 12 (no games Dec 25 or Jan 1)

Seattle Adaptive Sports is very interested in supporting the powerchair users in the Seattle area and northend. We are looking for a coach and support staff to help support this sport.

January 19th-20th, Salem basketball tournament hosted by the Oregon PVA, Salem, OR. Seattle Sonics DIII team.
January 26th, Hoopshoot at Nova High School
February 22th-24th, Women's Basketball tournament and Jr Girls Camp, Phoenix, AZ. Women and girls.
March, Sled Hockey between period exhibition at the Seattle Thunderbird's game.
March, Yakima weekend of basketball at Franklin Middle School. Youth teams will meet up with other youth in the Northwest for a 'sleepover' and all night basketball. The CREW will join the weekend for a sleepover with friends.

The CREW Youth Social
The CREW Youth Socials are open to youth and young adults to come hang out in our mentoring program. Supervision is provided by Camp Casey counselors. Organizers: Brian and Cassie Hurley. Sponsored by Seattle Adaptive Sports, Seattle Parks and Recreation, the Spina Bifida Association of Washington and the Kiwanis Camp Casey Foundation. The CREW Youth Social will take place the second Saturday of each month from 3-5pm, following the Seattle Adaptive Sports Experience clinics. What a great time to have your parents go off shopping or into Seattle for some fun, while you have some of your own with friends....games, food and laughter.

About Seattle Adaptive Sports
Seattle Adaptive Sports is a not-for-profit organization, tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. SAS promotes, encourages, and simulates the education, socialization, physical development, and normalization of persons with physical disabilities; and to promote public awareness and understanding of the need for recreational sports and amateur competitive athletic opportunities for physically challenged individuals. SAS offers competitive basketball, track/field, sitting volleyball, sled hockey and monthly sports clinics to physically challenged individuals in the Puget Sound region.
