Greetings!

The rally on March 5th was a success with hundreds of gun rights advocates attending. We offered testimony in the House Judiciary Committee from 1:00 PM until 9:45 PM. Once again, we strongly outnumbered the opposition.

In the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee, Chairman Brian Frosh opted to allow only 3 minutes in total to testify on all 8 bills under consideration. It is very difficult to effectively speak on a single bill in 3 minutes, much less 8 bills in only three minutes. When it comes to guns, freedom of speech and the right to seek redress does not exist in the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee. And yes, once again we outnumbered the opposition.

The current email count which passed 1 million last Friday, now stands at 1,136,050 and climbing.

If you could not join us yesterday and/or today, you can still participate by sending emails while you watch the live streaming video of the hearings.

Tomorrow we will testify in the House Ways and Means Committee against HB 1277 (50% tax on ammunition). See the article below for more information.

HB 1277 -  Sales and Use Tax - Ammunition - Developmental Disabilities Funding - 50% Tax on Ammunition

Hearing: Friday, March 8, 2013 @ 1:00 PM  House Ways & Means Committee

For whatever reason, Delegate Jon Cardin (Ben's son) has deemed it wise to place a 50% tax on ammunition:

"FOR for the purpose of increasing the sales and use tax rate for ammunition; distributing the revenue from the sales and use tax on ammunition to a certain fund used to pay for services for individuals with developmental disabilities; and generally 5 relating to the sales and use tax on ammunition."

In the meantime, calls and E-mails to the House Ways and Means Committee are needed
