Greetings!

As this email is being written, SB 281, the Governor's Gun Ban; is being debated in the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee. Most of the amendments the Governor wanted to fix problems in his bill were accepted. The bill passed in Committee 7-4. Most, if not all of our side's amendments, were rejected. See voting results below. A detailed report will follow when we have the vote tally sheets.

Senator Jim Brochin sold us out. He could have voted against the bill and it would have still passed 6-5, but he finally showed us his true colors.

2 More Gun Bill Days are Scheduled  -  51 Bills to be Heard

Briefly stated, here is the situation:

A total of 51 bills will be heard over 2 days in 3 Committees. Each day we will have bills being heard in 2 different Committees at the same time. This tactic is intended to dilute our numbers, which is why a strong "boots on the ground" turnout is so important. This is especially true on March 5th because the hearings will be in different buildings.

Friday, March 1st @ 1:00 PM:
  • 4 bills in the House Health & Government Operations Committee
  • 7 bills in the House Judiciary Committee (including the Governor's gun ban)
Tuesday, March 5th @ 1:00 PM
  • 15 bills in the House Judiciary Committee
  • 25 bills in the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee
Be sure to click the links immediately below for important information.

Keep up the email pressure; this is critical if we are to prevail in the face of the Governor's attack on our rights.

Help AGC Send Targeted Emails for Specific Legislative Districts

One of the most effective tools is the ability to do targeted emails to AGC's list members in specific Legislative districts. Unfortunately, most readers don't know which Legislative district they live in much less who their elected representatives are. Please help us to help you by doing the following:
  • Click this link to update your personal profile in our system (after you input your email address, the system will send you an email with an access link - use the access link to update your profile with your legislative district).
Thank you for your cooperation and assistance!
E-mail Blitz - Send 1,000,000 Emails to the Legislature

Governor O'Malley is doing everything he can to offset the tidal wave of pro-gun, pro 2nd Amendment, pro-Freedom emails you have been sending.

Let's not stop at 750,000; let's go for 1,000,000!
Look for an enlarged email "thermometer" in the near future.

Contact your fellow gun owners in Maryland and tell them to use our "Email you Legislators" link to voice their opposition to the Governor's gun ban.

Your legislators still need to hear from you and the AGC has provided an effective tool to help Maryland's gun owners.

The "Email your Legislators" feature on the AGC Website's Legislative News page is simple to use and very effective. In no more time than it takes to send a single email, you can send up to 188 individual personal emails, one to each and every member of the Maryland General Assembly.

Your message does not need to be long or in great detail. Short and to the point is fine. Save the long detailed explanations for your "on paper" letters.

Let's continue to Blitz the Legislature with another 350,000 emails telling them that we won't stand idle, and we should not be blamed for what someone else did.

Remember:
  • The system will automatically fill in the Salutation for you by adding either "Dear Senator Name" or "Dear Delegate Name" above your message
  • Always keep your communications respectful and courteous!
  • Short and to the point emails work best.
Click on the link with the red scrolling banner in the
Email Your Legislators system to email the entire Maryland General Assembly.
