What about a Mantra?
A mantra is just a phrase or word that you tell yourself. Eventually your mind will associate your phrase with serenity; it's kind of like Pavlov's dogs and the bell. So find a phrase and when you're really feeling stressed, take a few minutes to quiet your mind and repeat it to yourself over and over until you start to feel the stress and tension release. The simplest mantra is just the word "breathe." It is one syllable and a good reminder to slow down and breathe deeply.

You can refer to them as mantras, meditation, or just positive thoughts.

Here are a few, choose one that feels right for you!

1. Right now is the only guaranteed moment in my life.  I will make the best of it.

2. I can help myself by helping those around me.

3. I will do something today that makes me happy.

4.  I will let go of things I can't change and instead concentrate on things I can.

5. Life is short and people are not perfect.  I will forgive myself.  I will forgive others.

6. No matter how it turns out, it always ends up just the way it should be.  Either I succeed or I learn something.  Win-Win.

7. My habits define my life.

8. I will say no when I should.

9. I am healing, mentally and physically.

10. I will smile more.

11. This moment is a new beginning.  I will savor it and hope for the best.

12. I can.  I will.
I am becoming what I see in my dreams and feel in my heart.
Bring your dog to work
A recent study in the International Journal of Workplace Health Management showed that bringing your dog to work could help to lower office stress and boost employee satisfaction.

"Pet presence may serve as a low-cost, wellness intervention readily available to many organizations and may enhance organizational satisfaction and perceptions of support," study researcher Randolph T. Barker, Ph.D.
Laugh it up!

If you're feeling particularly stressed, perhaps it's time to take a quick YouTube break. A small 1989 study in the American Journal of the Medical Sciences showed that mirthful laughter is linked with lower blood levels of the stress hormone cortisol.

The Mayo Clinic reported that laughter also promotes endorphin release in the brain and relaxes the muscles, which are all key for stress relief.
Eat some chocolate
Dark chocolate doesn't only have health benefits for the heart -- eating it can also help to lower stress.

LiveScience reported on a study illustrating that eating 1.4 ounces
of dark chocolate a day for a two-week period is linked with decreased levels of the stress hormone cortisol. That study was published in 2009 in the journal Proteome Research.

(But of course, chocolate still contains sugar and lots of calories, so make sure you're eating the chocolate in moderation!)
Develop on healthy habit each month

Improving your health overall will help reduce stress. But do it one habit at a time.
Eat fruits and veggies for snacks. Floss every day.
Quit smoking.
Cook something healthy for dinner. Drink water instead of soda.

One habit at a time.
Declutter

T
ake 20-30 minutes and just go through a room, getting rid of stuff we don't use or need anymore. Look around at anything that's cluttering up a room, and get rid of it or find a better place for it. When you are done, you'll have a nice, peaceful environment for work, play, and living. Do this a little at a time - it can be one of your "fun activities".
