Welcome to our March Newsletter...

We have quite a smrgsbord of delights for you this month. In the Toy Shop, you will find a 'build your own Wimshurst machine kit', the unusual Curie Effect Heat Engine, and finally the rather philosophical Pythagoras Mug.

From the Web, one of our YouTube viewers has created a fun mashup of some of Tim's favourite expressions.

Also, a new online science magazine called Mosaic has just launched. Completely free, and backed by the Wellcome Trust, it aims to bring in-depth science to the lay reader. The editor is Mark Henderson, who feels that science does not get the coverage it should in the ordinary press. "Doing longer-form, more explanatory content about science is expensive  and takes up space that's scarce and  the standard mind set of newspapers is that it isn't commercially viable for them," he says. Ian Burrell has written an interesting article about Mosaic and science journalism in The Independent newspaper. Read it here...

Finally, the Australian software company that created an app for the music boxes that we sell has now released versions of the software for Windows, OSX and Linux.

Kind Regards
