Meet Some of the New Faces at PLC

Throughout PLC's 35-year history, our clients, community partners, and pro bono attorneys have benefited from a long list of dedicated staff. They include our very first immigration staff attorney, Lieutenant Commander Liam Connell, JAGC, USN, who recently joined us on stage at the Volunteers for Justice Dinner to present the Attorney of the Year Award. Former PLC staffers also include folks like former Supervising Attorney Julie Marzouk, now a Clinical Professor at Chapman University Fowler School of Law, former Staff Attorney Antoinette Balta, now President of Veterans Legal Institute, and former Administrative Assistant Elizabeth Paez, about to start her third year at UC Irvine School of Law.

Today's PLC staff is just as exceptional. We recently added some new team members to continue to deliver on our mission to provide access to justice for low-income residents of Orange County.

PLC's 2016 Summer Clerks

Over the past 35 years, hundreds of law students have helped PLC accomplish its mission of providing access to justice in Orange County. They in turn gain valuable skills and experiences that help launch their careers as lawyers. This summer, PLC provided just that experience to seven law clerks that we know will make their impact on people's lives over the next 35 years.

The Numbers are Finally In - PLC Sets New Record at 2016 Volunteers for Justice Dinner!
With your support, we raised $727,000 toward access to justice in Orange County

While the 2016 Volunteers for Justice Dinner has come and gone, supporters like you continue to help us celebrate our 35th Anniversary with your generosity. With a late push, our grand total for this year's event stands at $727,000 - a new record!

Thanks to Dinner Co-Chairs Mark Erickson and Deb Mallgrave, Barristers Collection Co-Chairs Glenn Dassoff and Marc Winthrop, Board President Darren Aitken and several dozen other volunteers who made this year's event the best ever.

But most importantly, thanks to you - for changing the lives of countless clients over the past 35 years, for making access to justice a reality in Orange County today, and for providing an additional $5.8 million in free legal services to meet the future needs of our most needy and vulnerable neighbors.

Please join us in a quick stroll back down memory lane to Monday, June 20, where we celebrated our history, honored those that went the extra mile, and set the stage for the next 35 years.
