PLC Awarded Significant Funding to Expand Immigration Services
 | Joyce Noche, Lead Attorney, Immigration Unit |
| As a result of a bill passed in September last year, the California Department of Social Services had $3 million to provide grants to non-profit organizations to provide civil legal aid to unaccompanied minors from Central America. In December, PLC received notice that it was one of 17 organizations to receive funding. With the grant, PLC will increase its capacity to provide immigration services to these children.

Pro Bono Attorneys Partner with PLC Clinics to Change Lives
Snell & Wilmer attorney wins underdog case for reunited family
 | Brett Ramsaur, Associate,
Snell & Wilmer |

Whether at a baseball game or in the courtroom, it's always nice to see the underdog win.
Brett Ramsaur, an associate with Snell & Wilmer, took on such a pro bono bankruptcy case last year. The debtor, David [not his real name], had filed his own chapter 7 bankruptcy case and was struggling to defend himself against a credit recovery agency. PLC approached Brett about taking on the case, and he agreed.

PLC Surpasses Annual Fund Milestones
Over $90,000 raised to support access to justice
Thank you, thank you, thank you! On behalf of the entire PLC family, I thank you for your generosity this past holiday season in supporting our mission and our service to the Orange County community.
In November 2014, we set a modest goal of raising 35% of our Annual Fund goal of $125,000 by December 31st. With your support, we quickly surpassed each new milestone we set-including unlocking a $5,000 matching gift challenge-and raised over $90,000.
I have no doubt we will reach and surpass our Annual Fund goal, which will allow PLC to provide over $1 million dollars-worth of free civil legal aid to our most vulnerable Orange County neighbors. To make a new contribution to the Annual Fund, please click here.
This could not have happened without your engagement in our mission. With your pro bono hours and your donations, PLC is once again ready to provide access to justice to veterans, seniors, domestic violence survivors, and children and their families in 2015.
