May in Downtown San Antonio

This May we host several special events at Travis park and the H-E-B Family Film Series kicks off at Mission Marquee Plaza! There are plenty of activities to choose from Downtown in May!

The San Antonio Spurs with support from the City of San Antonio continue to 'Paint the Town Silver & Black' with a new art piece in Travis Park. The interactive piece was created by San Antonio artists Nik Soupe and Shek Vega, who collaborated with the Spurs to help launch the team's 2016 NBA Playoffs theme, 'Paint the Town Silver & Black'. Stop by Travis Park to take your photo with the artwork, and stay tuned for an additional downtown mural that's in the works!

Join us on May 13 at 11:30 a.m. at the Houston Street Garage (240 E. Houston St.) as we unveil a public art piece created by UTSA College of Architecture students. As a part of the 'Architecture That Engages' design competition, each student design team is responsible for designing, fabricating, installing and dismantling a unique architectural piece that engages the community and showcases architecture as public art.
