March in Downtown San Antonio
 
This March, Mercados de O'liva farmers markets return, and we welcome the San Antonio Ballet to Travis Park for Ballet in the Park! There are plenty of activities to choose from Downtown in March!
 
Kicking off its 2016 season this month, Mercados de O'liva features local organic produce, tasty specialties from local chefs and handmade arts and wares. The market is held through November, and is hosted by local Chef and Restaurateur Chuck Hernandez of O'liva Restaurant. Mercados de O'liva offers six different markets each month, with markets located at Main Plaza, Collins Garden, Dignowity Hill Farmers Market and San Antonio Housing Authority. Markets held at City-owned facilities include the Spanish Governor's Palace market (held the first Saturday of each month) and the Mission Marquee Plaza market (held every third Saturday of the month). Enjoy fun events at Travis Park, including Ballet in the Park on March 12th, the St. Paddy's Day Food Truck Throw Down on March 17th, Zumba Party in the Park on March 19th, An Evening in Travis Park on March 29th and Dinner En Blanc on April 1st! For more information visit Travis Park's website
 
Join us for a movie night featuring "The Sandlot" at the Arneson River Theatre at La Villita on March 19th! The event is free and open to the whole family. Beer tastings by Alamo Beer will be provided.

Come on out for the People's Nite Market at La Villita's Maverick Plaza on March 15th, 22nd and 29th from 6 to 10 p.m. Enjoy specialty foods, arts and crafts and live entertainment. Enjoy free parking at City-owned meters, parking lots, and parking garages after 5 p.m. as part of Downtown Tuesday. For more information click here
 
Stop by Market Square this month and enjoy events for the whole family! March events include Market Square's March Market Madness on March 5th and 6th, Fiesta Primavera Spring Break at Market Square from March 12th to 14th, the Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair from March 17th to 20th and Painting in the Plaza on March 26th.
 
Join us for our next Downtown Tuesday Be-Cause event on March 29th. Enjoy wine and dining at O'liva Restaurant, followed by dessert, along with a special showing of the Saga in Main Plaza. The Saga is a captivating video art installation on the magnificent façade of San Fernando Cathedral. Created by renowned French artist, Xavier De Richemont, this 7,000 square foot projection with custom choreographed music in surround sound will narrate the historical discovery, settlement and development of San Antonio. A portion of the funds raised will benefit United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County. For more information and to purchase tickets click here
