OUT & ABOUT DOWNTOWN Lori Houston, Director Center City Development & Operations Department There's so much going on in downtown San Antonio in February, from the Western Heritage Parade and Cattle Drive, to Valentine's activities in Travis Park. The Western Heritage Parade and Cattle Drive is Feb. 7 on Houston Street. It begins at 11 a.m. at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital, and proceeds down Houston Street through the heart of downtown. There will be children's activities in Alamo Plaza from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. There's always something exciting going on in Travis Park. The "Mano Factura: Arte Regio" sculpture exhibit from Monterrey, Mexico is on display until March 5 - you should check it out! Feb. 13, there'll be a special Valentine's "Movies by Moonlight" with a screening of "Sleepless in Seattle". Travis Park's popular "3rd Friday" monthly live music series is on Friday, Feb. 20. Both events are free and open to the public - hope to see you there! CCDO is currently accepting applications from retailers for our OPEN program, which will activate vacant properties in St. Paul's Square for two weeks in May. OPEN creates an environment that engages customers, and shows off downtown as a vibrant urban space ready for long-term investment. Applications can be found on our website - sanantonio.gov/ccdo. Thank you for your support of CCDO. We're looking forward to seeing you downtown! |
