Did You Know?

The UC San Diego Cross-Cultural Center was one of the key Centers that helped start the organization of Cultural Centers in California. Even before the opening of the CCC in 1995. I met colleagues at the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education (NCORE). Over coffee and conversation we dreamed of having an association for 2 and 4 year, public and private institutions center professionals  who could come together, support one another, and help other campuses start programs. Fast forward to 1998 where the California Council for Cultural Centers in Higher Education (CaCCCHE). 15 years later, we are one of the few if not only organization that supports ethnic specific, cross/ multicultural, and intercultural centers on college campuses. We just had our spring northern and southern California drive-in meetings/ professional development and we are looking forward to hosting the summer retreat at UC San Diego at the end of June.
