Where Are They Now?
Porsia Thomas is an alum of UC San Diego class of 2008 who graduatd with a major in Communication and a minor in Ethnic Studies. She received her Master's degree in Higher Education from Kaplan University in 2010. While she was an undergraduate, she was involved in the Student Affirmative Action Committee, Black Student Union, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., UCSA, USSA, and NPHC. Porsia also worked with the Student Initiated Outreach and Recruitment Commission (SIORC) with BSU and other SAAC organizations' high school conferences, and was a key leader in trying to fight for the PULSE referendum that later established the Student Promoted Access Center for Education and Service (SPACES). Currently, she is the Program Assistant at the Black Resource Center. When asked for her favorite memory in the Cross-Cultural Center, she said - "I have quite a few favorite memories at the Cross-Cultural Center since I basically lived there LoL. Nevertheless, I would say my fondest memory was just being able to find refuge at the CCC. Whether it was a hug from Edwina, or much needed sleep on one of the couches, it was truly my home away from home."
