Emelyn dela Peņa is the Assistant Dean of Student Life for Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion at Harvard College, where she is responsible for campus initiatives regarding gender and sexuality, residential life programs, and student organization advising. Her responsibilities include oversight of the Harvard College Women's Center and BGLTQ Student Life. Prior to Harvard, she was a Campus Diversity Officer and Director of the Women's Center, here, at the University of California, San Diego. She was an intern at the Cross-Cultural Center as the Volunteer Intern in 1995. She also served as Associated Student (AS) Vice President - Internal from 1991-1992, the Chair of Kaibigang Pilipino (KP) from 1992-1993, and the Student Affirmative Action Committee (SAAC) Chair from 1993-1994. Submissions will be for an art gallery bridging day of the dead & trans* day of remembrance. The purpose of this exhibition is to celebrate the life and legacies of queer/trans* people of color (qtpoc). The exhibition will honor the struggle, importance, and dignity of qtpoc, both living and ghostly. Welcoming performances, poetry, paintings, photography, & spoken word.

This retreat will be held Saturday, November 2nd and provides an opportunity for first-year women at UCSD to connect with and empower one another. Feminism and social justice will be explored in fun and new ways, and participants will be given tools to impact their campus and community! Pick up applications in the Women's Center! All woman-identified first year and new transfer students are encouraged to apply. Space is limited.
