Practicing Self-care & Liberation in a New Home

By Erina Alejo
The school year ends again and I am scrambling to find a new place to live for my fourth year. Although, it's not just about having a place to live, it's also about having a place to live to be alive. Sustainability to me means living in an affordable apartment but also living in a place I could come home to where I can practice self-care and critical liberation with others. Although, I want to clarify this isn't the case for everyone; this is my particular set of values and convictions. For me, self-care means having time for self-reflection in solitude and having a support system of people at my apartment when I need company.
