Sustainability is a commitment to planning for tomorrow, a commitment to preserving our society, and most importantly, a commitment to bettering the world we live in. Too often we find our society ridden with blind consumption - uncontrollably consuming without considering its drastic repercussions. Sustainability presents an effective means to combating the status quo. The Chicana Canvas: Doing Class, Gender, Race, and Sexuality Through Tattooing in East Los Angeles

This study explains how Chicanas are accountable to Chicano male tattoo artists' expectations of how femininity, class, race/ethnicity, and sexuality should be done; as cultural gatekeepers of what it means to be a cultural insider, Chicano tattoo artists hold their Chicana clients accountable to dominant Chicano values. Speakers Bureau is a group of LGBT and allied community members (students, staff, and faculty) trained to represent the diversity of the UCSD LGBT Community to a variety of groups and organizations. These groups and organizations are particularly interested in providing knowledge on LGBT issues, issues such as perpetuation of homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, and the need for more representation of queer people of color, queer womyn of color, trans folks, etc. Participation is Speakers Bureau is completely voluntary.
