The Myth of the Model Asian Minority

The myth of the Model Asian Minority is something which I believe plays a huge part in higher education.  Everyday attending UCSD, I constantly hear people making remarks on the bus, while walking around school, that Asians have this genius superpower which allows them to succeed and ace every single class without studying or last minute cramming. I've applied and centered my work at the Cross-Cultural Center around debunking the Asian Model Minority myth, putting on various social justice programs around Asian Model Minority within family, school, academics, etc. - Read More
