Invisible Students

Invisible Students at UCSD is an opportunity to unsilence those that live marginalized due to our broken immigration laws. This event is accompanied by an art exhibition titled Unsilencing AB540 Students at the Cross-Cultural Center, Gallery, from April 4th to April 15th. Come join us in community with food, AB540 narratives, DREAM Act information and an action in an attempt to provide AB540 students at UCSD with a support network. Hope to see you there! |
Community Seder: Liberation & Hardship

Come to the Cross-Cultural Center and Hillel's Passover seder-style community lunch! Share your experiences and hear others' narratives about striving for liberation, both individual and communal. Lunch* is provided with intimate table conversation and an open mic for stories, poems, and spoken word. The lunch will follow Jewish dietary laws for the holiday of Passover, also known as "kosher for Passover". |
Graduate School Workshop

Graduate School can be an intimidating thought. What's the right program for me? What steps should I take for a good application? How do I find funding? Find the answers to these questions and many more through this workshop that is designed to expand the knowledge you already have. Through an interactive group exercise, you will learn more about the prospects of pursuing an advanced degree, as well as tips and tricks to make yourself a strong and viable applicant. Coming Out Group

Women's Center Small Conference Room
The Coming Out group is a place to meet and gain support while discussing your sexual and/or gender identities in a confidential setting. This group is for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, straight, or questioning folks who are coming out, considering coming out or may already be out. Topics are determined by group participants and can include stress, fear, anxiety, loneliness, excitement and celebration with regard to coming out. Open to new members through Week 4. Volunteers Needed for Out & Proud Week

Out and Proud week is coming up April 18th-22nd! It's an exciting week of LGBTQ community visibility, celebration, and private reflection. There will be giant rainbow balloon arches and special events! The success of Out and Proud Week depends on the work of volunteers. If you're interested in lending your energetic support, please email Liz at lgbtrcvolunteers@gmail.com with your availability! Even one hour of your time is appreciated. Because Out and Proud week relies heavily on volunteers to ensure its existence, on Friday there shall be a party enshrining all of you and your hard work. There will be cake. |
Transgender Film Fest

Cross-Cultural Center Comunidad
These genre-blurring short films weave elements of documentary and narrative film to entertain and enlighten with sweet, seductive, and subversive visions from the queerest part of the LGBT spectrum. The screening includes works by established and emerging filmmakers including Iris prizewinner Lee Mi-Rang's The Bath, and Transproofed by Andrea James and Calpernia Addams, the real-life subject of the Emmy-winning Soldiers Girl. Zsa-Zsa Gershick's Door Prize won for Best Short at the 2010 Kansas City Gay and Lesbian Film Festival while award-winning Queerer Than Thou has screened at over 50 LGBT film festivals on four continents. These films will make your heart twinge, melt, race, and pound. Enjoy the ride! This event is co-hosted by the Campus Community Centers and the Asian Pacific Islander Student Alliance.
