NAR CODE OF ETHICS REQUIREMENT DEADLINE: Dec. 31, 2016
REALTORS® are required to complete ethics training of not less than 2 hours, 30 minutes of instructional time within four-year cycles. The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS®. The current four-year cycle will end Dec. 31, 2016.

NYSAR Legal Hotline Expands Hours The Legal Hotline is now available for members Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, excluding holidays and during official NYSAR functions. The Legal Hotline number is 518-43-NYSAR (518-436-9727). Before using the hotline, callers should formulate a clear question and gather the relevant facts. The NYSAR Legal Hotline is not intended to replace your own legal counsel. The NYSAR Legal Hotline has one purpose: to provide direct access for our members to a qualified attorney who can provide information on real estate matters. Beware of Email Scams and Online Fraud
The National Association of REALTORS® urges its members to be on high alert for email and online fraud
Criminals are hacking into the email accounts of real estate agents or other persons involved in a real estate transaction and using information gained to dupe a party into a fraudulent wire transfer. These emails are extremely convincing. Many sophisticated parties have been duped. No one should assume that they are "too savvy" or "too small a target" from becoming a victim. . This fraud is pervasive, convincing, and constantly evolving. Read on here

- Never conduct business over unsecured WiFi
- Clean out email accounts on a regular basis
- Change email passwords on a regular basis
- Use complex passwords with a combination of letters, numbers and special characters
- Implement the most up-to-date firewall and anti-virus technologies

Are You Involved in Local Government?
The GRAR Industry Advocacy Committee is asking all Members who hold any type of local governmental office or position (Or are considering running for elected office) to please let us know! As part of our grassroots level relationship building effort, we would like to be able to share information of any issues/concerns relating to home ownership and the real estate industry with the aim of advancing support on County and State levels. Please contact Karen Herbst at (585-341-2123) and let her know what position you hold in which municipality. Your response is greatly appreciated!
2016 RPAC Fundraising and Participation Goals
The 2016 RPAC fundraising goals will be identical to the 2015 RPAC fundraising goals for the local boards.
Greater Rochester Association of REALTORS' goal is $43,341.20 and 949 participants, based on NYSAR's official count of GRAR eligible membership of 2710) Beginning in 2016, for an RPAC investor to be counted toward participation totals, the minimum donation is $15.
