OPEN HOUSE SAFETY ALERT
Several GRAR Members recently reported a white man with brown slicked back hair who signs in at open houses as "Tony," He acts very suspiciously, going straight upstairs, then to the basement, making agents and clients feel uneasy.
The open houses were in Greece and Irondequoit. Authorities in both towns have been notified. Please do not hesitate to call 911 if you feel uncomfortable for any reason with a person who is present at your open house. Your safety and that of your clients is of utmost importance. As always please be alert, review your office safety policies and take advantage of the Safety courses offered by GRAR this month to refresh your safety practices.

UPDATED GRAR FORMS
GRAR has 11 forms that are new or updated and we expect them to become effective by the end of the week. Stay tuned for an email dedicated to the forms changes that will come when we have an exact date and where you can find these forms (will be on GRAR.org and in Instanet).

GRAR staff has been working behind the scenes to make it easier for our members to be compliant on changes required for the closing statements.  See the article below on the upcoming requirements for TILA-RESPA INTEGRATED DISCLOSURE (TRID).

Changes have been made to the MLS REALTOR Full report and search results when searching for a User or Firm in MLS.  You will notice that the MLS User record now shows the NYS License Number and the Office record shows the license number for the broker (at that location, if multiple locations are available).  These will also be pulled into Instanet so that when you import a listing, the license numbers will be pulled in as well. This will save Instanet users having to now look them up for every transaction.
Click here for a summary of the material changes to the respective forms.

REALTOR® EMERITUS (NAR MEMBER CLASS) UPDATE
Did you know that any person who has held membership in the National Association as a REALTOR®, REALTOR-ASSOCIATE®, or a combination of both, for a cumulative period of forty (40) years in one or more Associations of REALTORS®, and who have served their local, State or National Association, is eligible for REALTOR® Emeritus status?   Emeritus members save by having their State and National dues waived (still have to pay local and MLS).

Applications submitted in the years 2015 through 2019 will require proof of one (1) year of service* at the local, state, or National Association level. Applications submitted in 2020 and beyond will require proof of one (1) year of service* at the National Association level. If approved by the NAR Board of Directors, the dues waiver would take effect in the dues year immediately following approval. "Service" is defined as serving as an officer, director, committee member, federal political coordinator, President's liaison or regional coordinator to a country with which NAR holds a reciprocal agreement.

UPDATE YOUR PERSONAL CONTACT INFO IN MLS NOW
Would you prefer your cell number to appear on your listings on various websites (Ex. RPR at www.narRPR.com) instead of your Direct Office line??  Many members have changed their Direct Line to be their Cell Phone number to make it easier for others to get in touch with them.  In addition, would you like to allow others to contact you via Text Message on your listings?  You can make these changes several ways. The easiest is to click on the Pay Dues button in the MLS Portal and then the 4th choice down is "View/Update Personal Information".  Here you can update your phone numbers, email address and whether or not you accept text messages and or want your mail from GRAR at home or the office.   You can also do this by sending a message to GRARHelpDesk@grar.net.

TILA-RESPA INTEGRATED DISCLOSURE FACT SHEET
The National Association of REALTORS® is undertaking a comprehensive outreach campaign to promote the tools and resources available to real estate professionals that will help them understand the new TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID) rule to be implemented on October 3, 2015, and to also help them explain to their clients the new changes coming to the home buying process.  The Fact Sheet outlines the details of the cooperative relationship NAR has with the CFPB, as well as some educational materials available for real estate practitioners and consumers.
If you have questions about the CFPB materials or NAR's role in sharing this information, please visit http://www.realtor.org/topics/trid-tila-respa-integrated-disclosure or http://www.consumerfinance.gov/know-before-you-owe/real-estate-professionals/
