GRAR's HOURS ARE CHANGING THROUGH NOVEMBER Make a mental note...Beginning on Friday, October 17 and continuing through Friday, November 21, GRAR will have new Friday hours. Please note - if you have previously scheduled meetings or classes here on a Friday morning, those will be held as scheduled. As always, GRAR will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 27 and 28 to observe Thanksgiving.

PRESIDENT OBAMA SIGNS INTERSTATE LAND SALES FULL DISCLOSURE ACT AMMENDMENT Late last month, President Barack Obama signed into law H.R 2600, a bill to amend the Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act (ILSA) to clarify how the act applies to condominiums. As amended, the ILSA will treat the sales of condominiums still under development in the same manner as condo sales in completed projects. By doing so, the bill closes the loophole that allowed buyers to use a technicality to rescind otherwise valid real estate contracts due to personal financial reasons or "buyer's remorse." NAR COMMENTS ON PMIERs NAR submitted comments to FHFA on its proposed draft Private Mortgage Insurer Eligibility Requirements (PMIERs) for companies that insure mortgage loans owned or guaranteed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The proposed requirements are important to NAR members as private mortgage insurance is often required for borrowers with down payments less than 20 percent. Read the letter here |
