CoreLogic® Alert Update
Microsoft released an update to Internet Explorer on May 1st to resolve the recent IE / Adobe Flash security issue. Most users will receive this update through Automatic Updates. Users that have Automatic Updates disabled should use Windows Update to manually initiate the update as soon as possible. Microsoft has included an update for Windows XP even though the operating system is no longer supported. Click the link for more information. CoreLogic® also recommends that all users: * Upgrade Flash to the latest version Adobe released April 28th, which includes a fix for these vulnerabilities. * Run CoreLogic® web-based applications (Fusion, MLXchange, and Tempo) in a Trusted Site zone and keep browser security settings on high for other sites. * Upgrade to Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11 or higher Microsoft discontinued full support of Windows XP earlier this year. Watermarking of MLS Photos to Begin May 6
At the last GENRIS Board meeting, the Board voted to start adding a watermark to all listing photos that are entered into the MLS. This is part of an effort by the NYS Alliance of MLS's, of which GENRIS is a founding member, to help track where the photos originated in the event that listing information is being scraped or sent to an unauthorized source. CoreLogic® is scheduled to begin this process for new listings added to the system beginning on May 6. Photos added prior to May 6 will not have the watermarking.

Data Co-Op to be Activated in MLS on May 6
We are excited to announce that Data Co-op™ from CoreLogic® will be available for MLS Participants to use beginning tomorrow, May 6. There is no additional fee to use Data Co-op, so be sure to take advantage of this new, value-added real estate tool! Data Co-op provides new tools, new reports, and a new way to access multiple listing data, giving you access to property information, including assessment data, property characteristics, sales history, nearby comparable sales, community demographics and schools-all complemented with current trends and market intelligence. In the coming months, Data Co-op will also make it easy to access listings from around the country. Whether your client is relocating, searching for an investment property, or looking for that perfect vacation home, Data Co-op lets you tap into the listing data you need, but not just "consumer-grade" listing data. The Data Co-op gives you the REALTOR®-only information that you can only get from a professional multiple listing system. Watch for details as we initiate cooperation with other MLS's in the country over the coming months. Here's how to try the Data Co-op beginning May 6: In MLS (Fusion or MLXchange), you can - Link from any listing detail report, look for the Data Co-op icons '
' on the left. - To search the Data Co-Op, from the Home Page, go to Resources and then Smart Links to get to Data Co-Op!

Single Sign-On Option Coming Soon
Beginning May 28th, the NYSAMLS's (New York State Alliance of MLS's, a regional joint venture of the Multiple Listing Services in Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse) will be implementing our new Clareity 'Single Sign-on' MLS portal which will offer significant convenience, easy access to third party applications, and centralized access to our services [ex. MLXchange, Fusion, Realist, Instanet Forms, RPR, Supra, RE Technology, Homesteadnet.com and GRAR.org] under a single login. When we cut over to that new dashboard, all members accessing MLXchange and or Fusion will be redirected to our new Clareity portal (home page) and after selecting a new password, will be able to pass through to many of the products that come with their membership without logging in again. Ex. Fusion, MLXchange, Realist, Instanet, etc. See below for how that is going to look. We'll keep you posted as it gets closer with details as to how the rollout will proceed. See below for tips for selecting strong passwords if you want to plan ahead.

Choosing Strong Passwords - Video of the Month
 | How to Choose Strong Passwords |
Since the new Clarity MLS portal will be requiring a password change for all members who use the MLS (see above), it seems like a good time to start thinking about a strong new password. MLS Participants will be required to create a new password that is a minimum of 8 characters and must include a minimum of 2 numbers. Between now and May 28, watch this video by Mozilla for some tips to make a strong password that is also easy for you to remember.
