Ambassador Message

Hey Everyone! I know it is holiday time. Halloween just ended and Thanksgiving is right around the corner but we still need to make smart food choices for dance.

Always stay hydrated and bring a bottle of water to class.
Right before or after class, try to eat a healthy snack such as apple slices with peanut butter or crackers and hummus.
Happy November to all of you!

A quick reminder:
At 24/7 Dance Studio we offer A LOT of fun opportunities.  That being said, if you are interested in any of our events, you MUST LET US KNOW so that we can continue communication with only those that are interested and not bombard people unnecessarily. Remember that interest is not a commitment, just puts you on the list for communication purposes.  Thank you!

Mission Statement

We are committed to providing a diverse technical and artistic education that encourages excellence, builds confidence, and instills a lifelong passion for dance and the performing arts.

We can't believe the holidays are almost here! As the colder months approach we want to remind you of a few tips for dance classes:

*Please wear a jacket when leaving dance class. Your muscles are more vulnerable to injury when they are cooled down too quickly.

*In the winter months we sometimes forget the importance of hydrating so please bring and drink your water. Take a water bottle to class to stay hydrated.

*Remember everyone learns to dance at different speeds. Don't compare yourself to others in your class. Your journey is your own. Ask questions if you are unclear about a step.

*Do your best, smile, and have fun.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Anti-Bullying Week. We had a great week learning how to stand up, speak out and be a friend to others; how to be a buddy and not a bully. Check out the 24/7 YouTube and Facebook pages to see videos of the weeks events. A  big shout out to everyone who came and celebrated the Best of the Best with us. It was a fantastic day. See our Facebook page for pictures!

Please read the information below on costumes, Parent Observation Week, and more.

From my home to yours, have a wonderful Thanksgiving, we have so much to be thankful for.

Warm Wishes,
Gina Korrell
Artistic Director

Parent Observation Week is November 12-18. During this special week, 2 observers are invited to come into the classroom and observe. Siblings under 5 are not permitted into the class and may not be left unattended in the lobby. Please make other arrangements for them so you won't miss this special day with your dancer. Video cameras and non-flash photography are encouraged.

During Parent Observation Week you will also get to see a picture of your dancer's class recital costume selected by their teacher. The cost for each class costume is listed in this newsletter.

Please come see the skills your dancer has been working on. They will be very excited and proud to show you what they have learned.
SHARE BOX
New at 24/7

There is now a "Share Box" at the far end of the lobby outside of studio 4, the black box theater.

We ask our students to fill out the paper in front of the box with things they feel 24/7 staff need to know. Then place the paper inside the locked box. You may share anonymously or place your name on the paper.

Please feel free to use this box to share compliments, report bullying, etc.

For more serious issues, it is always best to speak personally with the Ms. Gina.

Illness

To stay healthy, please remind students to wash their hands frequently and dress warmly before they leave. Their bodies may be warm but it's important to bundle up before going into the cold air.

Please, if your child is sick or has a fever, just give us a call to let us know they will not be in class and let them stay home. Your child can always make up the class in another class when they are feeling better. The teachers, other students, and parents will be most appreciative.
Thank you.

P.R.I.D.E. Fall Show "Addy's Holiday Adventure (An American Twist to the Nutcracker)

Dancer's put a fresh "spin" on a timeless holiday story.

This fall, 24/7 Dance Studio will be presenting an original holiday show titled, Addy's Holiday Adventure: An American Twist to the Nutcracker. The show is inspired by the classic Tchaikovsky ballet and incorporates modern music, dance styles, and toys, in addition to featuring beautiful vocal performances. Clara and her family are set to take flight to visit Grandma for the holidays. When a threatening snowstorm delays their flight, they are forced to spend the night at the airport. Clara's favorite uncle comes to the rescue with toys to calm the children. He delivers a special American Girl Doll just for Clara. As she sleeps, young Clara dreams of her doll, Addy, coming to life, daring light saber fights, and a guided trip around the world. By the morning, the storm has passed, Clara's nerves are calmed and the family is ready for their big adventure together.

Recital Costumes
The end of the year recitals will be June 3rd and 4th at the Weinberg Center. We have been busy measuring students for recital costumes. You will receive a Costume Confirmation Card before the Thanksgiving Break. We ask that each parent check the costume confirmation card and ONLY return the card if there are any changes or questions regarding the size of the costume. Otherwise we will assume that you agree with the size the computer has assigned based on your child's measurements. Note that we look carefully at the assigned sizes. Since we order five months in advance and you know your child best, please make us aware of any concerns. It is much easier to have a costume taken in than have it be too small. Parents will also receive an email picture of the costume to share with your family.

All costumes are charged automatically December 1 in place of tuition. If you have multiple costumes and would like to make a payment ahead of time so that December's payment is more manageable, please contact the front desk and we can help you. If you paid in full, please stop by the front desk to make sure the costume is paid for by December 1. No costumes will be ordered without payment and a $25 late fee will be charged after the 7th. If a costume must be ordered individually, due to late payment, we will also assess an additional $25 shipping fee.

Recital Costume prices are as follows:

Creative Movement, Intro to Dance, Pre-Dance 1&2, and Combo 1 Classes........................................................$65

Combo 2 Classes........................................................$75

Elementary & Mini Movers Hip Hop Classes..................$80

Pre-Teen Classes........................................................$85

Musical Theater, Teen, and Adult Classes.....................$90

Additional fee for all Child XL & Adult XL sizes................$8
